HIGHSNOBETTE

Opening Ceremony launched what I think is the second installment of Chloe Sevigny's clothing line. The results are very mixed. Some of it is just plain strange--and not artsy-fartsy good strange like that runway show featuring the top with giant, raised "Yes." What I mean is that parts of the line looked like they were pulled straight out of the back of her closet from when she was feeling the 80s for the first time from a few years back. There's a handful of things that were decent, but overall, damn girl, we know you can do better!

^^In general these days I like high-waisted, straight-legs and it's good to see someone making them in a fabric other than denim

^^This uber-coordinated, Laura-Ashley-night-at-the-disco outfit is so silly that I sort of like it. It harkens back to the days when Chloe would wear figure skater body suits to events, which I always appreciated deeply.
