Obey @ Magic S.L.A.T.E.

Fashion

I'm telling you, there are still waaaaay too few streetwear designers addressing the wants and needs list of female customers. The floor of S.LA.T.E. was very much man world. Obey is NOT part of the female-ignoration crowd. For a while now, it's offered designs for women, and not just in smaller tee-shirt sizes. The brand offers the full gamut and it has a female designer (Argh! I just discovered that I accidentally left all the cards I got in my hotel room so I can't tell you her name, which sucks!!) dedicated to the task. UPDATE: I just an email from the designer. Her name is Erin Wignall and she is great!

Here's the designer's fave item for fall 2009 (that's her hand in the picture, btw):

You will soon be able to buy this hoodie and the ones on the next page at 80sPurple.

I couldn't photograph Spring 2009, but I can tell you that Obey did a VERY cool collabo with amazing street photographer Martha Cooper.

Obey cropped jacket

Obey logo tee; I like the sporty directness of this design

This Obey d.j.-themed tee makes me think of Chewbacca and who doesn't love that dude?

Obey vee-neck sweater. Look by the vee part and you can see how it's nice and see-through.
