Miroike was launched  in Berlin by Ramiro Calderon Alvarado and Ulrike Siedel in 2004. Both studied under Vivienne Westwood and graduated from the Berlin school of the Arts. The Miroike  line  has been recently seen at select retailers in the US! notablyWelcome Hunters in LA and King of Green Street in NYC. Miroike as a  label creates small collections that challenge the traditinal conventions of shapes and contrast aptly titled by Siedel and Calderon as " Couture-à-Porter ".

For fall 2008 the capsule collection features great contrats details , innovative shapes and the most amazing boots I have seen in a while. Produced and created in Berlin Miroike has a commitment to quality and an aesthetic that has made them one of the most promising design talents in Berlin,a place whose individual fashion and edginess is well known to fashion insiders. I pay close attention the the shoe assortment at browns and I can’t believe that I missed those…There are styles that carry over no matter the trend, this is one of them.whether whe are in a round to or pointy toe season( hopefully square toes are gone for good?) a black patent leather lace up is always,stylish  and simple, definitely a classic

When I was looking up tags for this post I had to resist the temptation to qualify these babies as Art.Cesare Paciotti produces one of the most complete footwear lines kicks,stilettoes ,boots and flats.The style of the footwear is of course outstanding but what makes his lines even more special is the long history of craftmanship that surrounds them.Look on the next page for a few of the ones that made my"it" list,the whole line is fiyah!!

WWD  recently announced that Puma and Sergio Rossi are collaborating on a capsule footwear collection Inspired by the "clyde".By the looks of this Mary-Jane looks like it will be another match in fashion heaven for Puma!

Altough Proenza Schouler’s Spring 09 line did not have me doing cartwheels , the footwear was definitely worthy of mention.I found the Fur detail to be a little fall-ish tough don’t you agree?

Once you get over the hype onver the Manolos,The loubous and the Choos You sometimes wish there a footwear designer that was a little more "Risque" I dunno How this slipped by me..But Nicholas Kirkwood shoes  make me want  to stop paying the rent..Seriously..Color,Inventive details with the platform !! detail that really does allow you to walk more than 3 blocks…feel me..
