Zille Homma Hamid is an artist and fashion fashion designer with roots in Pakistan. Her  heritage is reflected in her collections with a lot of subtelty. Caftan -like shapes with a mix of muted colors reminiscent of a desert  with   flashes of bright hues . I find the silk pants above to be simply amazing!

Barbara I Gongini is a Nordic designer based in Denmark. A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity  to view her collection and I wanted every single item, as they all have a very experimental  edge, that is  both wearable and well crafted. The perfect mix.

This past week we got to preview the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection for May Kosaka’s MOTHE .  Based and produced  in Brooklyn, MOTHE  takes inspiration from the duality and transformation of   moths  to create a collection of pieces that are modern convertible and timeless. The fabrics are soft and the silhouettes  have the perfect combination of structure and fluidity. We heart MOTHE A LOT!

This is one  pant style that trend-centric fashionista’s  seem to be really afraid of: The Harem pants or Sarouel pants.  You either get it or you don’t. And that is perfectly okay. I  love the ease and playfulness they bring  to the fashion scene.  And of course,  in my head I could pretend to be on  a stylish  excursion  with Bedouins in the Sahara.

Awareness and Conciousness  designed by Christiane Gruber,presents her Spring/Summer 2009 collection title “Ease”. As the name of the collection illustrates the pieces are simple,  modern, edgy and a great example of effortless “easy” style.

Stine Goya, a former model , stylist, fashion director of Cover Magazine, launched her label in 2007 with the intent of “Innovating  and redefining both form and colour,with an aim for wearability…Touching upon the avant-garde but always seeking to enhance the feminine.”

For Autumn/Winter 2009 the C.neeon designers Clara Leskovar and Doreen Schulz were inspired  by the Russian artist and designer Sonia Terk Delaunay,  co-fonder of  Orphism,  an art movement rooted in cubism that defined painting as “the bringing together of a sensation of bright colors.”

Called “One cannot live without champagne and gypsies,” the collection is bright, fun  with an air of nonchalance, that makes it all the more irresistible.

An ode to no one is a label to to watch. Their Autumn/Winter line is filled with edgy cropped jackets and streamlined jersey pieces. However, it’s the classic little black dress that An Ode to No One really has a handle on, with numerous versions popping up throughout the collection. I love  any garment that looks easy to wear yet still glamorous at the same time. This juxtaposition of sex appeal and comfort is followed through in the rest of the line as well.
