The celebrities–many of them sporting outfits from the collaboration–came out in full force for the H&M x Versace runway presentation held in New York City last night. Big names included Uma Thurman, Blake Lively, Prince, Linda Evangelista, Blondie, Sofia Coppola, Alan Cumming, Terry Richardson, plus more. NY-based designers were there in big numbers, too, including Alexander Wang (above with Zoe Kravitz), Joseph Altuzarra, Lazaro Hernandez & JackMcCollough, Anna Sui and Brian Atwood.

Above is a video of the H&M x Versace runway show, which took place last night in New York City. I’m sitting here trying to think of any retailer or brand that does a better job of hyping its collaborations than H&M and I’m drawing a blank. It really is a master at the game. As always the Snobs view it as a big win for budget-minded fashion lovers and H&M, with a more questionable outcome for the brand being collaborated with. It would be so interesting if someone were to investigate the impact these partnerships have a year or so after all the attention has faded. A positive because of all the increased publicity or a negative with the core customer turned off by the down-marketing of a lux brand?

Karmaloop is offering a collection of vintage Versace shades in limited quantities for holiday 2011. You know the deal, people, once they’re gone, that’s it–no reinforcements. There are two more on the next page, including style No. 789, which Lady Ga Ga wore in her “Alejandro” video.

Images of the complete H&M x Versace have finally arrived, making up a collection that includes dresses, skirts, top, accessories (including leather choker necklaces!), scarves and even a couple of throw pillows. The items we posted here represent the standouts–the Versace skirt whose print speaks to the over-the-top Italian extravagence that is this brand’s signature and the Asian-inspired-design-on-black fabric that reflects the label’s talent for creating  amazing prints with searing color combinations.  Both of these items recall Gianni and what more could you ask for than that. Also worthy of note, the leather dress with studded details that’s already been shown quite a bit in magazine editorials and even worn by Anna Dello Russo.

The thought of banana hued footwear can sometimes cause some of us to shrink back. But when I saw these sandals by Ferragamo I  had to pause in awe. Yellow is really not that hard to wear.Pair it with puple and you will be amazed!
