Tory Burch put up some images on her site from her resort 2011 collection, which are slightly bigger than the ones, which first showed on Style. In hers, you can get better detail on those boots, which look like leather chukkas.  So far they look cute, but the jury stays out until there’s a profile view. Burch’s accessory game has been sick for a while, but with this collection we see her up her apparel game as well. Gone is the 60’s socialite stuffiness that has hampered some of her apparel offerings. It’s basically the same look, but more feeling like blowing spliffs as opposed to popping Xanax.

Last year, Ugg’s version of this boot sold out in New York to a weirdly-combined demographic of Upper West Side moms and Harlem fashionistos (though only the latter paired his with a Moncler jacket). This year, the very savvy Ms. Burch figured it was time to offer her version and no doubt hers will sell out, too. The question is, will YOU be getting on board the duck boot trend? Me, myself and I are decidedly undecided.

p.s. You gotta guess that Samia is out of town if Tory Burch is showing up on this site. Have no fear, mis hermanas, she will return at the end of the week.

On a recent visit to the Tory Burch boutique in Soho, Lois and I both fell for these  Tanya Leather Sandals, also available with neon leather accents at her online store. An adaptation of  Indian “kholapuri” sandals. Yes, It’s been done bofore , but regardless they’re hot! Available at Net-a-Porter.

I like Tory Burch. She’s doesn’t make my heart leap, but I respect her ’cause she knows her lane, stays right in it and delivers the goods every time. I see her as the new millennium Donna Karan in that she understands and is perfectly in sync with the mindset of the aspirational Manhattan female.
