For this upcoming fall Timberland embraces sleekness for their women’s collections. Remaining true to the label’s heritage the  footwear silhouettes have an  authentic rugged edge we admire.We also had an opportunity to get a peek at the Timberland apparel collection (above) comprising of timeless basics with a vintage flair.On the next page take a closer look at some of our favorites, as well as  artisans  made accessories from the Andean collection and  LayerxLayer.

Speaking of the quintessential Timberland 6-inch boots,  I had the opportunity to design my very own pair recently. With 14 color options for the upper, various  hardware  choices and the ability to monogram the boots  among other features, the possibilities of creating a pair of boots that are truly unique are endless. Last Friday we reported on the rumor that Justin Timberlake would be teaming up with Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Today, we already get a taste of his first publication after a six years break in the music business. Even though, Beyoncé is not (yet) part of the gang, we are excited to get a teaser of what the new album will sound like.

Propelled by city dwellers love of its classic 6inch boot, it’s oftentimes easy to forget the Timberland brands outdoor roots. To highlight the label’s outdoor heritage and style Marcus Troy put together ‘Walk With Me’ a journey through Toronto’s woods with a crew of some of our favorite bloggers. Timberland unveiled their Spring 2013 women’s collection  last week at their Soho New York store. Showcasing styles from Timberland Boot Co as well, the evening was also a celebration of their collaboration with Hartford denim co. We caught a glimpse at the collaborative denim, bags as well at IHDA winner Fiona Kempton’s collection for Timberland. On the next page catch a glimpse of our fave pieces for spring and this fall.

A sign of the times, fashion cycles and maybe the need for  Manolo Blahnik to play in the “it shoe” category we just spotted the 2002 suede and leather ankle Timberland-inspired boots at Saks.  Some reminders can be found in Jay Z and Beyonce’s ‘Bonnie and Clyde and in J.Lo’s “Jenny from the Block.”

The one update I can see e is the black ankle tab instead of a brown. The fashion geek in me me wants to camp a bit on the symbolism of this re-issue but  I’ll spare you a tirade. What I will say is that this boot comes at a  perfect time where style influences  are more than ever a broad mash-up  of  all eras and cultures. Get them here. One more picture on the flip.

As macho as Timberland is, over the years, it’s done its fair share of things for us ladies. Besides the fact that  plenty of us did our own version of machista cool in a pair of six-inch wheats, who could forget the winter of Timberland-inspired Manolo Blahniks, which first caught fire when they were spotted on the feet of BX fave, Jennifer Lopez? (and which Timbs eventually made their own version of.)

This collection, however, is a lil’ more refined and is clearly trying to take things next level for all us grown Timbs lovers. Known as the “Depression Era Chic” collection, it was inspired by the “post-industrial working woman.” The styles  featured here are known as “Marge,” inspired by fashionable females working hard for the money in cities worldwide. They launch in the fall and two of the stores where you can purchase them are Shoe Biz in SF and Soula in BK.
