A another glimpse of Gwen Stefani’s Harajuko Mini collaboration with Target, which launches November 13th. The little boy’s plaid straight legs (trousers, jeans, leggings–not sure) are the collection’s standout item.

I keep reading that the Target x Missoni collection is completely sold out, but no, there are actually a smattering of items still available like the black and white cami ($29.99 for a “satin” fabric with quality levels no doubt akin to that of a giveaway tote bag) featured above. The two pages of items shown on the Target site are mostly housewares like glasses and plates, plus a few kids items and striped sox that look like, well, everyday striped sox that Target in desperation slapped a Missoni label on,  but we have heard….shhhh….that there may be reinforcements coming for holiday so keep your eyes on the site if this collabo interests you.

The issue with Missoni is that all by itself it sometimes can look cheapish but then you add in Target’s factories handling the making of this collaboration and the snob in me has some doubts about how the clothes will look on the rack. It doesn’t help that manufacturing costs are way up this year and most retailers (especially ones like Target) have downgraded the materials they use to keep their profits from taking hits. But whatever, I imagine for early-arrivers there will be a few items worth grabbing. #tryingnot2bcynical&failing

Anyway, here’s the first Missoni for Target ad. Product hits store September 13th. The guy’s cardigan is kind of cute, but so often these collabos fall short of the hype when it comes to the quality of the actual garments that hit the floor. Via Fashionfoisgras.

The Target collaboration with Missoni is the first one in a while at the big-box retailer that fashion lovers have been excited about so you will find these images from the ad photo shoot all over the style blogs today. The idea is that they were taken on the sly, but judging from the quality and range, and the fact that they landed first on TFS, one cannot help but suspect they were intentionally leaked.

According to the article, McQueen wasn’t always a fan of Target, but the idea of spreading his name appealed to the designer. "Apart from the East and West Coasts, my company doesn’t have any visibility in the U.S.," he said. "I always liked the idea of people in the Midwest wearing my clothes.’"

Seriously, since this collabo craze begun, how many of them would inspire you to haul your ass out of bed and wait outside of a gross big box for more than one minute?

US retailer Target now released a series of limited edition artist beach towels, featuring artwork by none other than Kehinde Wiley and Jeff Koons. The towels are exclusively available in the Target online store and go for 50 USD. Via Supertouch.
