Spring 2012 brings tropical prints to Osborn Design’s signature oxford silhouette as well as ballerinas, and slip-ons. A peek of what we spotted at  Capsule on the flip.

Gucci for Milan Fashion Week took a turn toward its more classic/elegant side and as such there wasn’t much to sink one’s teeth into where accessories were concerned. That being said, the sandals featured here were completely amazing as were some tres chic shimmery, clutches featuring gold chain details and tassels. Here’s a better look at Prada’s”Flaming” sandals it just showed on its Spring 2012 runway for Italian Fashion Week.

In the ultimate nod to Americana, Miuccia Prada offers up a Spring 2012 collection that pays tribute to the U.S. big car culture of the ’50s, often considered to be a period that represented the nation at the height of its powers. Prada unlike many other designers, however, manages to pay homage to the period without becoming overly prissy and staid, which she pulls off by infusing designs with her signature touch of sex-kitten mischieviousness, highlighted in this collection by satin car coats and vintage cut bathing suits with sparkle detail. And oh the sandals (above) with the flames shooting out of them!! ….editors are liking to be buzzing about then for days and days to come.

Nail artist Sophy Robson is big in the mix for London Fashion Week and she just posted up these shoe images featured on the Roksanda Ilincic Spring 2012 runway . We blogged on our 10 favorite white shoe styles from New York Fashion Week yesterday, but judging from this amazing pair, London could give NYC a run for its money.

Mara Hoffman’s Spring 2012 presentation for New York Fashion Week was amazing. She’s pretty much the woman when it comes to creating chilled yet chic tribal looks that us Snobettes tend to favor. Plus, she “gets” accessories, which, major bonus points !

There was some discussion on some blog recently about how New York Fashion Week has changed and probably the biggest difference is so many more designers are showing now versus, say, ten years ago. Whether big or little or massive retail chains (who actually expect us to think they’re setting trends–as if!) or Project Runway contestants, they show! It’s hard to fathom even the most efficient and energetic not being overwhelmed or at least feeling like the whole event just blows by in a wink and you barely catch any of it.

I say that all to say that I’m sort of in catch up mode now and wanting to post about some of the folks I’m just now seeing. Like designer Lindsey Degen above whose knitwear pieces are kind of neat. I love the bra-top featured here. It’s howing a little but not much. And it’s kind of studenty and artsy, but whatever, still nice. See more here.

We first noticed the white shoe trend at Alexander Wang, who showed no less than three versions of white shoes (above), but then the look continued to pop up on runway after runway, on silhouettes ranging from pointy-toed pumps to minimalist wedges and menswear-inspired loafers. And while yes, the trend was mostly concentrated among designers who target the young and hip, in truth it was fairly transcendent and looks to be one of if not the most unifying theme of New York’s spring 2012 runways. And it’s nothing stopping in NYC. From the looks of London fashion week, the white shoe trend is hitting big there, too, starting with no less than Burberry.
