AlexanderMcQueenSpring2011 1 540x372 Alexander McQueen Bags Spring 2011

We get a glimps via Popbee of Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2011 line-up of bags. The signature skulls and ornate detailing remains, though what happens to the brand’s status sans McQueen as perceived by both retailers and customers will be interesting to watch. More after the flip.

Tom Ford Spring 2011 First Looks!

TomFordVogue1 Tom Ford Spring 2011 First Looks!

After dissing the instantaneous nature of internet fashion non-stop, we get the first glimpses of Tom Ford’s much-buzzed about Spring 2011 women’s collection, you guessed it, on Vogue’s website. The funnier still part is that the article spends its first two paragraphs reitering that theme and then revisits it again in a third paragraph! But oh well, Ford is doing his best to create exclusivity and perhaps stumbling a bit along the way (or rather Vogue is not realizing it too has a web presence!). As for the clothes, they’re quite glamorous and true to Ford’s love affair with the ’70s, but it’s tough to get a real feel for the collection from just these shots.

Here by the way is a list of the models who appeared in his show: Lauren Hutton, Liya Kebede, Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Feinstein, Lisa Eisner, Beyoncé Knowles, Marisa Berenson, Stella Tennant, Amber Valletta, Natalia Vodianova,Karen Elson, Lakshmi Menon, Karlie Kloss, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Rita Wilson and Julianne Moore.  Via Fashionista. CLAtalanta 540x357 Christian Louboutin Spring Shoes Now On Sale!

Christian Louboutin’s Spring 2011 line of shoes and bags is now available in the brand’s on-line boutique. Louboutin does a great job of addressing the neutral-toned kitten heel trend (the pair of sandals above are called Atalanta), but have no fear, ladies, he also provides plenty of styles for women who like their Loubies high, high, high. Many of the Spring styles shown are exclusive to his on-line store and boutique and several require a wait-list sign-up. Many more shoe images on the next page. Enjoy!

AWTSpring5 368x540 T By Alexander Wang Spring 2011 Lookbook

Through his lower-priced T line, Alex Wang hooks up his girls with the looks that made him famous. All the basics are here with some slight variations on the themes. However, given how many brands have followed him down this path, it could have benefited Wang to be a little less safe, or rather create a few items that clearly can be identified as being his and his alone. This is why in part women are choosing shoes and bags as their signature pieces. Short of a logo, lots of brands’ apparel offerings can barely be distinguished from the lower-priced wannabees. AW5 Alex Wang Spring 2011 Bags

We featured a bunch of Spring 2011 accessory offerings last week and here is another one, this time Alexander Wang’s Spring 2011 bags. Was chatting about the hot bag category with my HS partner in crime the other night, and we both agreed that with an unlimited budget, a Wang bag is the one we would pick to own. With the signature stud bottom and heavyweight leather, Wang has managed to create an iconic look in a very short period, but there’s also the added insider appeal of the brand. That might sound crazy to anyone who follows fashion, but Wang has a long ways to go before he becomes a household name in the world of handbags. More after the flip, including a fun cotton backpack featuring the doodle print he used on some of the clothes he showed for Spring. Via WWD.

Alex Wang ‘Confessional’ For Vogue

AlexBrittMaren Alex Wang Confessional For Vogue

As part of its “Confessional” series, Vogue magazine follows Wang in the days leading up to this Spring/Summer 2011 show. For parts I and II, the focus is model Britt Maren, who is working her first  show ever on Wang’s runway. In part I, she goes through pre-haircut anxiety, and in the image above Wang is asking her, rather rhetorically, “You trust me don’t you?” followed by a wicked laugh. In part II, she discovers she will open the show! As pretty as her and all the models are, what one sees clearly in this video is that Wang is far hotter and about a hundred times more fascinating to watch!

The Highest Heels Of Spring 2011

WSJ took a look at the rising trend of heel height  in recent seasons, and for Spring 2011, photographed ten of the tallest giraffes shown on the runways. The Pierre Hardy pair shown on this page has a heel that measure 11.5 centimeters, but it’s not the tallest. Check on the next page to see three more pairs, including the 15 centimeter shoe that breaks the ruler. Can you guess which designer?

CassieLaquanSmithMBFW2BD Cassie For Laquan Smith Spring 2011

Somehow we missed the intense fabulousness that was the Laquan Smith Spring 2011 show, entitled “A Storybook Path,” but thankfully our sisters in crime at 2BD did not. Thus we can bring this shot of super stunner Cassie, who walked the show, flashing her 3-D mani. Look on the next page for close-ups on nail art that includes–oh.my.goodness–a mini Eiffel Tower!! Gun us down with no mercy why don’t you, Laquan!
