Since I laid eyes on  Sophie Hulme’s    A/W ‘08 collection featuring a  sleek coat with a silver chained whistle I have been hooked. Sophie Hulme’s  clothes remind me of  a glam version of an urban apocalyptic movie , like brave new world or   the matrix with a streak of happy disco  sequins. Edging on stern urban /military modernism the line is still feminine , relatable and   fluid enough to allow the woman’s  own sense of power shine through. A closer look at Sophie Hulme Autumn/winter 2009 collection on the next page.

Sophie Hulme A label after my own heart…

I don’t know if it’s because I spent my tween and teens years fighting  not to have  to wear pink flowery dresses with big  bows … But I have a great appreciation for women’s fashion that is edgy, unique with hints of  anything  connected to utilitarian…This collection by Sophie Hulme hits all the right notes… Plus, When does a girl ever get to have a whistle on her jacket?

Check out what S.Hulme had to say about this collection:

“This concept for this collection is concealed combat, an armouring of womenswear. This is created by integrating traditional military clothing and detailing into luxury garments. Prime examples include, a fully sequinned military parka, jackets armoured with jets and military M65 jacket with a bow tied in the back. The result is a luxury look. It is not military or utility as such but has a hard edge.”-S.Hulme.

A label after my own heart!
