The partnership with Indian designer Aki Narula and Puma was announced in June of last year (very smart move on Puma’s part to give a nod to India and its growing middle class) and now we’re getting a closer look at the products, which aren’t on-line yet but should be soon (though if you like the Kenhinde Wiley X Puma looks we featured a while back, those are now on sale). Love the shoes, especially the ones on the left. The curve on that stacked heel is just so flavorful and speaks to the Indian roots of the designer.

I’m at Magic in Vegas so I’m going to keep this short, but loved these glowy shoes Rodarte showed at NY Fashion Week. They’re futuristic, but somehow still warm and fuzzy, just like Rodarte! Maybe post-apocalypse won’t be so bad after all.

Just returned with Samia from Compass, a trade show that is making its appearance for the first time in New York. It took me the whole show to get to talk to 80%20 designer Ce Ce Chin because, simply put, she had the busiest booth in the place. Chin’s forte has always been to design shoes and boots that are eye-catching and forward, but still emminently wearable, and each year her collection gets better. Spring, featured here and on the flip, had several stand-out styles, including some recolored versions from last year. We couldn’t photograph fall, but it has a bunch of the neatest boots you could ever imagine. See more after the flip, including a couple of pairs now available for preorder at Intermix and an Anthropologie exclusive.

Ahh, what better artist than Andy Warhol for Jeff Campbell to take inspiration from for these “Meow” flats. After All, Warhol was often accused of being an overly commercial and unoriginal artist….and yet no one would deny his uncanny knack for riding the crest of pop culture hotness . Of course there’s also the connection between Campbell’s soup and Jeff’s surname. Though again, irony of ironies, the word Campbell isn’t spelled out on the shoe. Not that it needs to be. We can all see that the shoes are mmmm, mmmm good!

Samia and I love this brand. It’s so all-emcompassingly female: beguiling, creative, tough, mysterious, practical, complex….that it should come as no surprise that it’s designed by two mujeres. We love how you fierce male designers put it on us with your gift for making us feel and look like other-wordly goddesses, but seriously, ladies, doesn’t the stuff made by women feel so much more like, YES, you.are.so.right.there.with.me! So yeah, goes without saying that we’re happy the the Sigerson Morrison site is now live, the Belle line is, too. That being said…..meh, their fall is looking sort of on the conservative side. I mean, for real, what’s S&M without a little heat??

Olsenhaus, a vegan footwear company has mastered a look that walks the line between outrageous and classic. The colors are unexpected and the lines are simple…a classic pump in a paint splattered butter yellow? Yes please! My favorite is their bootie in an electric blue, and while my bank account definitely doesn’t approve of me buying yet another pair of shoes the vegan aspect is that feel good kick I needed to justify my spending.
Check out more from Olsenhaus after the jump.

She wore these babies at the American Music Awards last week. Did you see?

They’re super sexy, right? And kinky sex at that.
Full shot on el otro side. I put an image of the outfit she performed in over there as well. (All images: Wire.com)

If you don’t adore legendary lensman for the NY Times Bill Cunningham it’s probably only ’cause you don’t know who he is. He’s been doing his "On the Street" photography column for the paper forever, which is, hands down, the best part of the Time’s fashion coverage. This past week he did his totally on-point column on the piping-hot fashion trend of "spidery" high heels combined with short dresses. He also talks about the demise of handbags as the centerpiece of the outfit. It’s a must-see.

^^"People who complain that there is no fashion and no style…they’re nuts!" –Bill Cunningham.
