One of our favorite women of style is of course Carine Roitfeld, who in our opinion never skips a beat when it comes to all things stylish and fierce. Inspired by his admiration for Roitfeld, Sergio Rossi’s creative director, Francesco Russo, dedicated a pair of  sandals to her called “Dedicated to Carine Roitfeld.” Featuring contrasting suede, snake and patent leather textures in a “caligola” silhouette, all of which combined make us weak in the knees. One of yours truly’s  fashion resolutions was to really open my mind to wearing color. Editorially the brighter the better, however, the truth of my closet is a large quantity of all black everything .  Taking a step in a bold direction, shoes in  bright colors feel so much more feasible than clothing, hence the strong attraction to Sergio Rossi’s “Caligola” sandals. Sergio Rossi has collaborated with Alexander Fury, Fashion Director of SHOWstudio.com, to create ten cinematic studies of the Autumn/Winter 2011 Sergio Rossi women’s collection designed by Sergio Rossi Creative Director Francesco Russo.

Fury stands in as curatorial talking head, analysing the reasoning and inspiration behind ten pieces of footwear taken from Russo’s latest collection – a strikingly cross-cultural and glamorous adventure in contemporary footwear.

A man after our  own hearts, as he understands the strong bond between a woman and her shoes, Francesco Russo, creative director for Sergio Rossi describes his women’s  Spring/Summer 2010 accessories collection for the label as follows:” A shoe defines a woman’s allure. According to its curve, its design, it defines one attitude or another, it provokes different reactions. A shoe inspires an entire range of emotions. I tried to convey these through a dream.  This is the story of a woman who morphs on contact with these shoes. She is connected to a dream of shadows, birds, mermaids….. “And a dream it is indeed!
