SarahJessicaParkerVogueAugust 384x540 Sarah Jessica Parker Cover Vogue August 2011

Carrie Bradshaw is on the cover of August Vogue. Can’t help but wonder how things are going with Big! (And do we like the belt with the matchy-matchy watch and epaulets or no? Or is it more like, who damn cares, I’m focused on my next cocktail, it’s the August issue for god’s sake!)

CannesSJPEllieSaab 517x540 Cannes Film Festival: More Red Carpet Gowns

We posted a bunch of pose strikers from the Cannes film festival last week and here are a whole lot more from a few different events. That’s Sarah Jess Parker above, enjoying her flowy dress by Ellie Saab. A lot of these women, we have no idea who they are, but they sure looked pretty. Enjoy!

Karolina Kurkova, Uma Thurman, Natalia Vodianova, Lara Stone and more on the next page.

I could not ignore the huge hole that is missing at London Fashion Week and that is Alexander McQueen. Even though McQueen had not attended London Fashion Week since 2001, knowing that he would never design another collection is truly a huge loss for the creative industry. Stars including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Moss, Anna Wintour and Bjork (who also performed) paid a special tribute to McQueen at a special one hour ceremony at St.Pauls Cathedral, London. I think the video tribute sums up the awe-inspiring, determined, outlandish genius that was McQueen. AK.

CFDA Arrivals: Lara, Ana, DVF, Gwyneth, SJP, Iman….

LaraStone1 CFDA Arrivals: Lara, Ana, DVF, Gwyneth, SJP, Iman....

Arrivals at CFDA were looking phenomenal. Across the board it was hard to find anyone who looked overly predictable or just flat-out wrong. Surely this is in large part because it’s a fashion event and many of the attendess are experts (designers, models, stylists), but perhaps we’re seeing signs of the design focal point moving away from shoes and shifting to dresses and accessories (specifically necklaces), making for a visually more compelling red carpet image. One can hope anyway. Dress length ranged from very short to trains, but white played against black and flowerful prints were two big color trends. Sheen was also a theme, as was relaxed fabrics. HighSnobette favorites included Allison Pill, Hana Soukupova, DVF and Lara Stone (but only because she is currently in the can-do-no-wrong category).

Many more looks after the flip.

Marc1 356x540 CFDA Awards: Marc Wins Womenswear!

Marc Jacobs won CFDA’s biggest trophy for top womenswear designer, beating out the popular new kid, Alex Wang.  The big emotional moment of the evening was said to come with a special tribute to Alex McQueen, as presented by Sarah Jessica Parker. The tribute included the presentation of his final collection for fall 2010.

Sex & the City: The Most Stylish One of All!

13 May 2008, 17.01 | Posted in Fashion, Other | No comments »

The opening night for the Sex & the City movie took place in London yesterday. All the ladies were there, vamping it up on the red carpet. Who was the most stylish of them all? Why Pat Field, natch.

PatField 01 Sex & the City: The Most Stylish One of All!

^^This is the woman responsible for tricking the media into thinking that Sarah Jessica Parker is a style icon (when she’s actually a dork!) We now highlight our HighSnobettiest Item of the Day, well, Ms. Fields is definitely tops on my personal, all-time HighSnobettiest women list. She is that awesome.

Late-breaking update: Samia just told me that this is NOT Pat Field, it’s Vivian Westwood. Which, fine, I messed up BIG TIME, but it doesn’t matter ’cause she’s amazing, too! (I was wondering what Pat was doing with a man hanging all over her!)
