I have a few more images from our trip to Las Vegas’s Project trade show last week. For this post we give you shots of Rebecca Minkoff’s high-end bag line. It has a specific name, but at the moment it eludes (sorry, drank too much wine last night). According to the ladies manning the booth, it has been limited in distribution to one particular retailer (again, memory fail) but will see a wider rollout for Spring 2012. Overall the theme of the collection was front-flap silhouettes featuring rich finishes and materials, set off by silver chain straps. Perfect for the woman who like her bags to show a bit of flash.

Native continues to stay a step ahead by using its ear to the street to come up with new designs that are compelling and fresh. We’ve deemed this Spring sandal for women (a first for the brand) the “Birk” for obvious reasons. Needless to say we’re in luv!

Melissa showed an Autumn 2011 collection, titled “Time Code,” with each style name after ways we spend our time: “Kissing,” “Waiting,” “Making,” etc. What’s different  and exciting about the brand is all the new material offerings. The pumps on this page are still “plastic dreams,” but during the manufacutring process, a velvet material is blown on the shoe, resulting in a lightweight and waterproof shoe. And since velvet is having a moment, we are loving it. Many more styles on the next page including a convertable fur rain boot and another Alexandre Herchcovitch collaboration, this time a super neat Beatle boot. Walking around Magic’s Project show past booth after booth after booth of similar-looking stuff, this bag more or less leaped up and down and demanded, “Look at me, I’m adorable—take a picture of meeeeeeee!” And voila, now you, dear reader, get to share in the fun of this skull & crossbone tote, too. When attending the trade shows, I always intend to take candids of the fashionable folks strolling the floors, but you’d be surprised if you haven’t been to the shows because it’s not always easy to find photo-worthy walkers! For a lot of attendees, it’s a work event and they’re wearing comfy (read: b-o-r-i-n-g) footwear. The one exception was New York’s Coterie. That crowd was much more dressed up, but then again the labels that show there are higher end and the crowd is older. Alas, I forgot my camera that day. The image above was worn by a LAMB rep at the Project show in Vegas. After the flip some candids of Chloe boots, Jeffrey Campbell wedges and and a couple of other cute styles spotted at Magic (also held in Vegas), Project and Compass (in New York).

There was no way a trip was going to be made to Las Vegas without checking in with 80%20 designer Ce Ce Chin, a longtime fave around these parts. We didn’t get long to chat ’cause Ce Ce was BUSY, but she let us know that response to her line was so positive that she’s thinking of expanding her booth next year. Nice!

Here are some of the more casual elements of Spring 2009, but let it be known that Ce Ce is also expanding the dressier part of her line and it looks fantastic!

Kid Robot had one of Project’s funnest/nicest booths and like its stores, just looking at it made you feel happy. Much to my utter delight, there were plenty of women’s offerings AND they let me photograph away. The following are all from the Spring 2009 line:
