Highlighting collaborations with artists, Emerald Couture stood out to us as the quintessential fashion/art label. Blending original artwork and hand printing techniques each piece is itself a work of art. From the colorful bustiers and leggings to the subtle canvas jacket you will see on the flip, Emerald Couture takes art in a direction we find visually stimulating and of course very stylish. Blood is the New Black, a label we have covered for years,  has expanded it artistique tees repertoire to include “Black Standard,”  a collection of delectable  custom-dyed cotton pieces  we fell head over heels for. Fringe tops, bell bottoms, bodysuits and more, the kind of pieces we want to wear to shreds and beyond. See a preview on the next page.

If you’ve read us for the past week you caught our extensive coverage of the Project show we attanded in Vegas . The above video gives you an idea of the ambiance, the immensity of it all and the feedback from a few familiar faces. Enjoy!

Project was fun on so many levels, as observers it became clear that the focus on menswear in the show also fostered a well rounded assortment of super talented, effotlessly stylish men. And thus a plan was hatched between ourselves and the ladies of hearty magazine to have a “Babe Battle,” pitting our top ten hotty picks in attendance a the show against theirs. It was ridiculously fun spotting and photographing all the cuties, though we admit to feeling a tad guilty as our subjects prattled on about whatever brands it was they were wearing, while we were in our minds all, “Yeah yeah yeah….angle your head that way so we get a better view of your stubble, forearms, thighs, etc!” (Honorable mention for Tim Broadhagen and Raif  Adelberg whose images just vanished in SD card universe.)
