To celebrate the launch of the new Prism bag collection for Autumn Winter 2013, Creative Director Anna Laub hosted a special PRISM House Party at a private three story town house in Montmartre, located somewhere between the 9th and 18th district in Paris. The brand new capsule bag range includes oversized totes in nappa leather and chic clutch bags in tonal combinations of hot pink and black leather and ponyskin. Regarding the party there was an un-stated theme, that dealing with the randomness of modern jet-set life.

“You know, the bags are designed to make travel more functional,” Laub noted, “and I was thinking about the fact that we’re all traveling so much these days, and it’s kind of a crazy thing, that people have friends all over the world, and these lives where they’re in Tokyo one day and then Paris the next.”

Simon Porte Jacquemus, with his label Jacquemus defenitely proofed his creativity by bringing his fashion show for the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection to one of the fanciest fashion show locations at Paris Fashion Week I’ve seen so far. Of course H&M did an impressive set-up for their show at Musée Rodin, but to show a collection in a public piscine was new to me. The bigger was the WOW-effect when seeing the images of people wearing blue plastic shoes and standing bravely in line at the lip of the pool. But now, let’s talk about the collection. I am a big fan of Jaquemus, so the young, fresh and somehow rebellious but still French chic that the collection is representing, is just what I loved, love and will always love at Jacquemus’ designs. As we all know many or even most of the interesting designers these days prefer to stay anonymous, trying to express their identity and character through their creations. All the more we are pleased  to see one of the few remaining  giving us an insight into his work and world. The Selby just published a beatuiful spread showing French show designer Christian Louboutin at his house and studio in Paris.

Tomorrow the new Chloé flagship store will open it’s doors located at 253, Rue Saint-Honoré. On this occasion Chloé creative designer Clare Waight Keller together with architect Joseph Dirand created a limited edition version of the “Alice” handbag, offered to coincide with the opening. Just like the store, the bag is inspired by the typical Chloé woman with a seventies-inspired cool sensibility.

What a delight to discover adorable new brands like this one! Steffie Christiaens debuted on Paris runways in March 2011 after having worked with Balenciaga and the Maison Martin Margiela. She established her Paris studio in 2010 and now comes up with an adorable collection for Spring/Summer 2013. For the collection she imagined a wardrobe made for women’s last days on earth represented in futuristic and sleek cuts in ice blue, silver and some apricot and rose tones. We love it and keep the brand in view!

During Paris Fashion Week we took a look at the women’s fashion, showcased at the WOMAN show in the beautiful setting of Bastille Design Center. After the success of MAN shows during Paris men’s fashion weeks and men’s market weeks in New York, we can now share a few images from the event in Paris to give you an idea of what went down on Boulevard Richard Lenoir last week. The MAN (and now also WOMAN) team set up a very nice show with some up and coming designers as well as some top notch brands such as YMC, Folk, D.Efect, and Fred Perry.

It’s already the sixth season that luxury brand Missoni teamed up with streetwear label Converse. This time on a special edition of the iconic Pro Leather and Auckland Racer shoe designs. The unisex collection will include twenty deadstock fabrics that will be sold exclusively at colette in Paris starting this Friday.

Paris based lingerie designer Yasmine Eslami teamed up with Maison Kitsuné on a very Parisian lingerie line featuring a triangle bra and panty in striped tulle. The set is exclusively available from Kitsunés webstore.

The French luxury fragrance Dyptique Paris just opened a store in Londons leadenhall market. Of course it is not just an oridinary shop; British designer Christopher Jenner created a space influenced by English patterning and French luxury. The interior is decorated in gothic revival wallpapers, stained-glass fretwork and antique mirrors. Take a first look at the shop on the next page. Via designboom

Today, the video for Longchamps‘ Autumn/Winter 2012 campaign was launched. Directed by Blanca Li, the movie stars top models Coco Rocha, Emily Di Donato and Noreen Carmody, who play the role of the typical Parisian attitude in a slightly exaggerated way. The video reflects once again the brand’s theme of movement, showing the girls in everyday situations like riding a bike, dancing and ultimately making their way to the Montmatre district laden with bags and boxes.
