The theme for Onitsuga Tiger’s Spring/Summer 2010 season could easily  be “Fun Basics”.The men’s and women’s styles showcase their trademark sleek silhouettes with new materials like canvas and satin , color  and subtle details . Nothing crazy , but that is perfectly okay. Sometimes you just need good classics that will keep you looking fresh when the warmer days happily come back. A closer look at a few of our picks from Onitsuka Tiger Spring/Summer 2010.

If you mention a sport to me most likely , my mind would wander to the appropriate “look” for it,  somehow my imagination always  takes me to the clothes, not in “Oh my what will I wear?”  mode but really in images , like there is always a photohoot going on in my head… So,   when I saw these Onitsuka Tiger Monte  ’Pokhara’ Sneakers  named after a city of Nepal , I long to visit , I  could not help but think of rich layers , legwarmers, cashmere,  Pendleton x Opening Ceremony and the fact that  while these sneakers, might not  make it through a hardcore hike they do contribute to  perfecting the’ outdoorsy look’ , we will be  seeing a lot  more of this fall. A closer look  at the Onitsuka Tiger Monte  Pokhara sneakers on the next page. The Onitsuka Tiger Win 58 Lady  inspired by table tennis with an outsole design resembling the rings of a tree which symbolizes the 60th year  anniversary of Onitsuka Tiger ,this year . Available at Thegoodwillout. Closer look , and another color on the next page.

The Onitsuka Tiger X Tokidoki collabo was as cute as always. The snow boots are a new addition to the line and they are an obvious must-have for Tokidoki lovers. The rest of the spring Onitsuka Tiger line was impressive as well, especially Onitsuka Tiger Mini Cooper collabo shoe, which impressively captures the zip and energy of the actual car.

(Though on another note, I swear any day now I’m gonna kick my camera’s ass. For some unknown reason we have never gotten along and I may just be going back to my older but much more dependable Canon.0

Onitsuka Tiger Tokidoki Lunetta

We first saw the Spring Onitsuka Tiger Tokidoki collabo product at Magic, but couldn’t take images. Now the first couple of style shots are coming in and more will follow after our showroom visit with Onisuka next week. The men’s shoes (on the flip) are already on sale and the women’s land in early April (most likely at high-end department stores like Nordstrom).

‘Member last week I put up all those shots of the Ontisuka Tiger Tokidoki collabo shoes? Well I took other images as well, but I took a little time out from this site so I’m just getting them up today. One of the things Onitsuka is doing for spring is this Chinese-astrology-inspired line. I must say, the art of some of these shoes is quite amazing. Check out this one:

Many more after the flip, including the Mexico 66 women’s series AND a pair of 420-inspired kicks for all the Chief lovers in the crowd. 

I know I’m always hyping the hightops, but the truth is I wear plenty of lows. We women need variety after all! And what better choice for a pair of low kicks than these Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 styles, which are reissues from the 1968 Mexico City Games. What’s special about ‘em is that they were the first Onitsuka Tiger shoes to feature the now famous tiger stripes.

Utilizing the heritage Mexico 66 style, which was the first Onitsuka Tiger style to rock the famed ASICS stripes, the new “1333 Minna Collection” was produced exclusively for Shoebiz, 1553 Haight Street, San Francisco. Less than 150 pairs were produced and nearly a third have already sold after a successful launch party at the store recently"

For as much as I’m getting tired of the fitted with matching kiks combo( Lois dissagrees) I have to say that the embroidery adds a certain chic to the whole thing…And the fact that the colors are kinda subtle…

Last Night Onitsuka hosted a party to celebrate the  Onitsuka tiger X Tokidoki collaboration at Hiro Ballroom in NYC.Wegot to meet Simone Legno the man behind the ever so popular Tokidoki  design line.The man is a sweatheart!!!

He was decked head to toe in his gear which unfortunately is not yet available in the us …

We got to chat,with Louis from Kicksclusive and Lois Won a watch!!

We also attended a Onitsuka Tiger party last night and got to meet Hokidoki designer Simone Legno, and, well, we were TOTALLY smitten by him so you will be seeing a LOT more of his designs on the site today. (And thank goodness Samia is handling that ’cause I’m struggling this morning thanks to one to many glasses of red wine!)
