Taking their easthetic and inspiration into their own hands the Oak NYC collection launches today with an assortment of  covetable pieces  that rival  alot of the cult/edgy downtown labels  we love. On the next page a few of my favorite pieces from the Oak Women’s  Collection.

I rediscovered my love of tie dye this summer, nonetheless the tought of tye dye shorts never came to mind.Thankfully the good people at Oak have found a way to make them edgy, urban and so relevant. One of our  dream closets for a long time has been the Oak nyc assortement. Louis Terline  and Jeff Madalena gathered all of clothes and brands that we love. There is no doubt that these gentlemen have good taste, and it was only a matter of time before their in house line of basics started to challenge their contemporaries on many levels, including price. There’s nothing like a good sturdy heel , on days where you have to trek around the city in style. Stilettos are really my fave but when a cab is nowhere to be found ,  there’s no subway in sight, and  back up footwear would mean too much to carry , The Acne Jeans   Above 1 Suede pumps available at Oak are perfect.

A sampling of Seneca Rising’s Spring 2009 collection is now available at OAK. It’s the ever present draping of slinky fabrics  in very sexy cuts that caught my eye. There is not a structured piece in this collection, everything is loose and flowing. By far the must have is the slouchy suspender miniskirt (center above) for it’s super skinny straps and low slung waist line.

Erin Wasson and RVCA have teamed up to bring us a beautifully made capsule collection. My absolute favorite piece is a blazer with a lighting bolt print on the back and an exposed zipper. Erin is known for her laid back, eclectic style and her combination of east coast cool and beachy west coast vibe blend seamlessly. OAK now carries the line on their  web store.
