The lovely Cassie is featured in this month’s Nylon magazine, which has a music theme. She photographed in the above image pre-both-sides-of-head shaved—still as pretty as can be. Here’s what she says about her current, personal style:

“Right now I’m in my tomboy jeans. I wear my Jordans and flannel shirts.”

The other Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester, lands the cover of Nylon’s February issue, which hits stands today.

According to my search, it’s been about two years since our last post on Kansas-City-born musician Janelle Monae so suffice to say we’re overdue! In this interview with Nylon magazine, she discusses her music and style influences. How very poised and self-assured this woman is–refreshingly different! Via Mavidamour.

M.I.A.’s media blitz in front of her record release continues. Nylon has her on its cover for its July/August issue, and as in other recent interviews with Complex and the New York Times, Google seems to be the biggest recipient of her rage this go round. Love her a lot, but the truth is she or someone is botching how she’s being repped right now and it’s going to take her more than a minute to clean up the messes she’s made in multitudinous aisles.

As no frills as I can be, I have no doubt that I’d last all of an hour with one of these Bando headpieces before it’d be all askew and having me look like Courtney Love after one of her three-day manic attacks. Thus, I envy the girly girls of the world who possess Nicole Richie-esque poise. Nodding off from heroin, weighing in at 80 pounds and barely able to walk…no matter, everything is always in it’s place and a place for everything!

While I have had it up to here with silhouettes of woodland creatures and birds used as a design feature, I fell in immediate love with this ice cream bar necklace, made for Nylon magazine by Lucas Design. There’s a lot of factors tugging at my heartstrings, starting with my longterm love affair with ice cream (and it helps that it’s finally starting to feel like ice cream season in New York), add in the purple sparkle and I’m reeled in hook, line and sinker!
