Like always Nicholas Kirkwood  sets himself apart with ingenuity and a design flair that makes him iconic in footwear design. Spring 2012 sees lots of colors various heel heights  with one style more lustworthy than the other. Nicholas Kirkwood’s recently-opened Mount Street store in London, now features the shoes from his much-buzzed about collaboration with Keith Haring. Fashion blogger Susie Bubble paid a visit and took some pics of the delightful results, one of which is shown above. To see more visit Stylebubble.

Shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood could be more consistent overall, but still, these shoes are so perfect for Summer 2011 (the mini tassel combined with the tribal cutout and the white heel contrasted against textured leather) that all is forgiven and the honeymoon is back on again. The Rodarte shoe collaboration with Nicholas Kirkwood, presented on its Spring/Summer 2011 runway is now available for purchase. We don’t think these hold a candle to the previous season’s “Glowy” shoes, mainly because the heel seems a bit heavy for now, but still they are quite the spectacle, and we would consider it a great day if we were to see someone stroll by in a pair of these.

We cannot get enough of an ankle wrap sandal. Nicholas Kirkwood serves up a highly covetable with a significant dreamy five inch  heel in his collaboration with Erdem.The chunkiness of the heel provides  a sexy little oomph of contradiction  to a fairly dainty silhouette.Kind of like rocking a  frilly sundress with combat boots… luv! WSJ took a look at the rising trend of heel height  in recent seasons, and for Spring 2011, photographed ten of the tallest giraffes shown on the runways. The Pierre Hardy pair shown on this page has a heel that measure 11.5 centimeters, but it’s not the tallest. Rodarte again worked with Nicholas Kirkwood for the shoes featured in the NY Fashion week runway show, which took place last night. Kate and Laura Mulleavy told Dazeddigital that this season’s inspiration was Northern California and the collection was about nature versus the last collection, which was “languid and soft.” Can’t say I’m a fan of all the stiff fabrics, which had the effect of styfling the mystery for which this label has become famous. It had a very upholstery-feel to me and it’s a particular fashion pet peeve of mine when designers use fabrics, prints or details (omg, like pom-poms!) that are inspired by a  living room couch. What can I say, certain worlds in my opinion are better left not colliding. That being said, the blue dresses were quite amazing. More shoe images after the flip. Via Dazeddigital.
