In an effort to highlight its Spring 2011 offerings, MiuMiu is presenting its looks in a series of films called “The MiuMiu Women’s Tales.” All will be directed by women, with the first of the series by Zoe Cassavetes, whose short is called “The Powder Room,” set in London’s Claridges Hotel. Featured models are Audrey Marnay, Caroline de Maigret, Line Gost and Sophie Vlaming. The setting is a powder room, aka a meetin’ in the ladies room….the mysterious lair of the womanly, where all manner of secrets and lies are whispered not to mention applied to one’s face! Miu Miu created a small collection of printed sachets that will go on sale at their stores for the upcoming Fashion’s Night Out, not a bad idea as they are probably somewhat affordable and not mass produced. However,what would have really made us swoon would have been a partnership with one of the plethora of young designers we have in New York to make something even more unique by being a little more inclusive of the City’s very extensive creative community. I’m just sayin’…

I would be lying to you if I said that I love Department stores..although lately….Saks has been really taking risks at least in their womens footwear department..is it the Hot footwear floor they opened a few years back ?or a new Buyer?
I don’t know but when I saw these YSL platforms available for pre-order I was pleasantly surprised..
