Our awesome first lady shouts out Chicago’s South Side in an article featured in Essence’s October issue. She recently put her Double-Dutch skills on display, an ability she no doubt picked up during her days growing up in the Windy City.

I must say, sometimes I wonder how Ms. Obama would dress if she weren’t hemmed in by the dress codes of her current job. A little fiercer I’d guess.

This one’s for my partner. That being said, Michelle looks stunning as always. The woman she’s meeting with is the First Lady of Haiti,  Elizabeth Preval. I put a picture of Michelle dancing with her man after the flip for you guys as a bonus. If you’ve ever wondered what caused Barry to fall for Michelle, you can see a big part of the reason in that image. Woman is foxy!

Michelle Obama with designer Jason Wu unveiled her inaugral dress at the Smithsonian today. She said some pretty sweet things about the day and the dress:

“I’ll never forget the moment that I slipped on this beautiful gown.  I remember how just luscious I felt as the president and I were announced onto the stage for the first of many dances.  And I’ll cherish that moment for the rest of my life.  And now that the crowds are gone, and the Mall is silent, and our family has settled into our new home, the White house, this gown is one of the most tangible things I have left to remember that day.  And that’s why it will always hold a special place in my heart….”

And check out Jason’s expression in the image (from USA Today). He’s looking very happily nostalgic himself, like, ahh yes, THAT dress. The one that changed my life fo’evah! One of my favorite moments from that day was when Beyonce sang the entirely appropriate Etta James classic “At Last” at their first inaugral dance.  As far as I can remember, Lady Diana  was probably the one woman in politics/media I remember being excited to see on TV.She had grace and the elegance that made you wonder what she would do next. She was not rocking the edgiest looks but sh e was relevant to the times in her own way.

 Michelle Obama is also creating quite a stir,  understandably so,considering that the woman can rock H&M, J.crew,Thakoon, and Narciso Rodriguez, and make it look effortless , elegant and oh so current!

I mean look at her, rocking orange ,showing the curves.If this is not the new "conservative chic" I don’t know what is… This picture is taken from Mrs O, a site devoted to her praiseworthy style and and elegance!

The buzz lately is the Inauguration and the ideas the designers are coming up with, I cannot wait!

Gosh, this family is good looking! Here they are, I believe, at the convention the night before Barack gave his great speech. Notice that baby girl, aka Sasha, is the one who’s always hamming it up. Personality-wise, she could just be a younger version of her Daddy, cuz her older sister seems very much like Ma.

On the flip, look what went into  the choice behind the orange pant suit Hillary Clilnton wore the night she spoke.

Michelle Obama was on Steven Colbert last night and she was looking great! Blue suits her:

^^There’s a couple of instance during the interview when Steve really cracks her up and you get to see a less serious side of her that she doesn’t reveal too often (at least that I’ve ever seen).
