Scapula Vesten-1

What won me over about May Kosaka’s Mothe  apparel is her continual attention to detail, the fact that a blazer a skirt or a jacket always features more than meets the eye. In a time where fast fashion has taken over, it’s refreshing to see young designers staying true to the craftmanship of garment construction and marching to the beat of their own drums. Enjoy  a look at  Mothe   autumn/ainter 2010 on the next page. Luv!

mothe6 540x438 Introducing: MOTHE Autumn/Winter 2009

Designed by May Kosaka, the Mothe collection for Autumn /Winter 2009 titled “Shelter” is  inspired by the natural cycle of hibernation where creatures seek  “…the cover of shadows, the refuge of subterranean burrows…” yearning for soft textures and layers.

An artful showcase of  sharp tailoring  mixed with soft fabrics and a great attention to detail by this newcomer we hope to see alot more from.

A closer look at Mothe’s Autumn/Winter ‘09 on the next page.

mothe 6 cover 540x339 MOTHE Autumn/Winter 2009 preview

This past week we got to preview the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection for May Kosaka’s MOTHE .  Based and produced  in Brooklyn, MOTHE  takes inspiration from the duality and transformation of   moths  to create a collection of pieces that are modern convertible and timeless. The fabrics are soft and the silhouettes  have the perfect combination of structure and fluidity. We heart MOTHE A LOT!
