Manish Arora and French denim brand  Notify have collaborated on a capsule denim collection, bringing with it lots of  fashion joy via the theme of ultra-glam adorned denim (remember Tom Ford’s Gucci denim circa the ’90s?). Illustrating Manish Arora’s  continual skill for using color and texture to amaze and seduce,  the collection will launch Spring 2012 at Colette, L’eclaireur and Manish Arora  online. For the American Music Awards red carpet, Nicki Minaj wore a design by Indian fashion designer Manish Arora, and when interviewed on the carpet and asked to describe what the dress would say if it could speak, she answered, “I am such a bad diva bitch!” Rap fans have been buzzing over Minaj’s recent direct-hit comments about Lil Kim, who Minaj has been reluctant to call about by name. Said Minaj in quite the rant, “I feel like, [Lil Kim is] going to go down in history now as a sore loser, as opposed to going down in history as the Queen.” Ouch!

As much as I  was not  impressed by their reviews of the show,  I loved the fact  that  vogue.com US  is finally including Manish Arora on their designer roster,  After all these years!  The collection is as usual super colorful featuring Arora’s signature ability to mix patterns  colors and textures with   a sense of edginess that is always optimistic,  never dark or morose. Manish Arora fever has yet to take over stateside where we still see very little of him . However , the rest of the world clearly is not waiting  to  get a piece of the  New Delhi based designers talent, humour and creativity. Manish Arora who collaborated with Reebok, Mac Cosmetics, and Swatch has now  created a capsule collection of Swarovski crystal embellished tees   to be sold at their Swarovski Crystallized stores in June . The tees represent Deity’s: Ganesh, Laksmi and Nandi(above) .
