Living doll KimK recently posed for a Radar Mag photo shoot. The theme was the long ago and legendary Brooke Shield CK jeans ad campaign. In her interview with the mag, she gave the best comeback punch ever when she responded to Paris’s description of her butt as gross by panning, "If Paris Hilton thinks my butt looks gross I really don’t care. At least I have a butt." Exactly, Kim! Where did crazy Paris get off thinking that all the world loves a backless wonder?? Cheez!

RihRih used a harness to accessorize her full-length dress for a recent music award show. It’s kinda different and I kinda like it. The one thing that bugs me a little is that she has a white paint job on her toes and it looks like gold for her mani. Even if white goes with everything (or so my Mama says), I need a little more matchiness with my mani and pedi. But who knows, I can’t see detail with this image so maybe there’s some hook-up between the two that my eyes can’t see.

There’s a story in the Style section of the Times laying out the premise that it is now okay and even cool to walk around with a busted manicure. And there is some truth to that. But it’s not just about nail polish. In general, busy young females no longer feel like beholden to ANY beauty or fashion regime. Chipped nails are not so much hip as they are a reflection of the crumbling of insane female beauty standards. Which is a good thing. Women shouldn’t feel like they can’t leave the house just ’cause everything isn’t perfectly on point.

All that being said, I can’t get with that days-on-end, chipped nails look. It drives me NUTS! And there’s nothing that brings me greater inner-happiness than gazing upon my own, brand new, fresh and clean manicure.

I know it’s still freezing out there and you haven’t laid eyes on your toes in about three months (and you’re still riding with that same pedicure you got about that long ago, aren’t you??), but it’s about to be April, a time when a togther women’s thoughts turn to getting a spiffed up mani and pedi.

If you, like me, have been frustrated by finding a salon that does imaginative nail art that’s in sync with how your brain sees the world, then I suggest you check out Valley Nails on Orchard Street in Manhattan. Look at these samples from the store’s website and see if you don’t think they’d do you proper:
