Designer of the moment, Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, speaks about the H&M collabo and admits, “I never wanted to do it, because it seemed like giving ideas away– like giving a child for adoption. But everything in life is timing. I feel that the world is changing.” –Nytimes

From the “Never Too Much” Luther Vandross school of thought, Christian Louboutin serves up another sneaker preview (above) from the men’s Autumn 2010 line, which layers studs on top of leopard pony skin. Sumptous like a hot fudge sundae! –More images at Highsnobiety

Perfectly speaks to the joy that eminates from beautiful movement, befitting the moment as we cruise through another week of runways, the epitomy of fashion fabulousness.
Harkening back to her “Justify my Love” days, the shots for Madonna’s MDG sunglass campaign have recently come available. Designed in collaboration with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, the range will launch this month. As many looks as Madonna has sported over the years, the theme of forbidden sex as punctuated by fishnets, retro lingerie and crucifixes, will surely go down as her signature.
The pre-Oscar parties are in full swing and Elton John pulled an amazingly a-plus list crowd for a fundraising event held at the newly-opened Soho House in Hollywood. Our forever fave Madonna was there, where she doubled down on Louboutin with a pair of ‘Tahiti’ black and white pumps from his Spring 2010 collection, and a ‘Lolita’ studded clutch.
Get a close-up look at her white LouBs, featuring a black flower (be still my beating heart!) and the clutch with a perfectly placed scripted ‘Louboutin’ label after the jump.
Marc Jacobs and Maripol (a stylist/designer from back in the ’80s who is best known for contributing to Madonna’s look during her “Like a Virgin” days–gotta love a guy like Marc who never forgets!) co-designed a collection of tees and accessories, which launch tomorrow at noon at his New York store at 403 Bleeker Street. And guess what, everything is priced under 50 bucks! Should be an interesting event given the snow that is piling up all around NYC as we speak.
T.K. Maxx partnered with Stella McCartney to create am exclusive line of Red Nose tees, featuring The Beatles, Morecambe & Wise and my fave, Madonna. Part of the money T.K. Maxx makes will go to an organization called Comic Relief, which helps people who need help. (Apparently this is all connected to some U.K.-based event called Red Nose Day, which takes place on March 13 and again is all about raising money to help people.)
At a recent Essence magazine event, RihRih had a camera basically shoved up her nose while she performed. And maybe it’s an amazing makeup job, but I doubt it. The girl’s skin is pretty much flawless.
^^RihRih’s favorite look: Punk via 80s Madonna (Chris Brown also performed, but sorry folks, I didn’t see any matching accessories between the two of them.)
After the flip, there’s another close-up plus a new, Beyonce-inspired dance move.
Here’s Madonna making her second, red carpet apperance at Cannes, this time in a red dress. It’s not nearly as haute as the Chanel dress, but she looks a thousand times better ’cause this one suits her frame better. She even seeme to feel more confident.
Straight up, the dress, which is Chanel, is amazing. You see a garment like this and it’s one of those moments when you are made to understand the difference between ready to wear and coutoure. My issue with Madge in this dress, however, is that she’s so tiny that it doesn’t look as good on her. And she has a tendency to do that–wear outfits that fit her personality rather than her frame. But oh well, she’s Mo. Her critics over the past quarter of a century have come and gone and she remains standing. A bad-ass female if ever there was one!
My other issue is that I’m not crazy about this kind of stark, black, white color contrast. To my eye, it breaks up the dress’s lines too much.
More images (which are all from Wire.com) of the dress, Mo’s accessories and her shoes after the flip.
