In Part 3 of “Collaboratory,” a series of shorts following the design partnership between MadeMe and Vans, we get a closer look at the two shoes in the Vans X MadeMe collaboration, then take a trip to the House of Vans in Brooklyn, for the shoe release party featuring Nina Sky and Kelis. Via the fantastic women of MadeMe.

We’ve received some early images from a collaboration between two street savvy brands, Stussy and Erin Magee’s Mademe, with an “S + M Fanclub” logo theme. No details yet on when and where it will drop but stay tuned. So far it looks hot! A couple more images on the next page.

MadeMe was a at Magic, natch. We had already posted up their Spring 2009 offerings so I popped by the booth to say hello and see if there wasn’t anything additional we could photograph. Well there wasn’t, but I couldn’t help but snap THE leather motorcycle jacket (famously worn by Alicia Keyes in her 1997 “Like You’ll Never See Me Again” video) designed by head mistress of MadeMe, Erin Magee (that’s her rep in the image, not her). Yes, everyone is offering some version of this silhouette for Fall 2009, but Erin gets the nod for being among the first if not the first to pump new life into this classic, bad girl jacket. If you want one, move fast as they tend to sell out.

We weren’t allowed to photograph any of the pieces in MadeMe’s fall 2008 collection, but we managed to snap a glimpse of the collection just to give all the fans a taste:

^^Updated versions of the leather jackets will be back (Did you know that Alicia Keyes wore one in her “Like You’ll Never See Me Again” video?), along with some flannel tops. The line also includes a James Blagdon collabo. According to Shana, the line is tres French-inspired!

MadeMe is one of the youngest womens brands to enter the market. The current Fall/Winter 2007 season was their first and they have already had quite some impact. The brand offers an innovative mix of streetwear and high end fashion, something that was clearly missing in the market.

The Spring 2008 collection is also looking very strong. We can only show you a few pieces so far, but they can already tell that there are good things to come. While we like to put MadeMe from the start in the same category as MOB and Hellz Bellz, all three brands have their very own distinct style.
