Louis Vuitton has released its Resort 2011 ad shots. They feature model Anne Vyalitsyna, as shot by Mark Segal. According to Sassisam, the source for these images, the collection features four collections: “60s Styles Colorama,” “Modern Nostalgia,” “Lolita on the Road,” and “50s Hollywood Glamour.” Where this brand is concerned, clearly Marc Jacobs is sticking to his prissy guns, promoting an old-school, pristine version of luxury when there was a place for everyone and everyone in their place. More shots on the next page.

From the “Never Too Much” Luther Vandross school of thought, Christian Louboutin serves up another sneaker preview (above) from the men’s Autumn 2010 line, which layers studs on top of leopard pony skin. Sumptous like a hot fudge sundae! –More images at Highsnobiety

In the ongoing depate over whether the Asian-influenced Louis Vuitton runway collection would actually appeal to Asians (ignoring the fact that it will probably barely hit stores), one Hong Kong socialite gives the LV runway the thumbs up, while a consultant says it was too heavy-handed. Well that solves that! –WSJ

The celebs and celebutantes were out in full force for the opening of a Louis Vuitton on Bond Street in London yesterday. And boy-oh-boy were folks DRESSED! Lots of short dresses and high heels, but nothing too outrageous or cutting edge. This is LV after all! The image on this page features runway model Natalia Vodianova and photographer Patrick Demarchelier. Love her dress and overall look, which speaks to my secret love affair with Russian style….slightly over the top and flashy yet still chic.
After the flip are WireImages of Gwyneth Paltrow, Kirsten Dunst, Carine Roitfeld, Thandie Newton and many more. Marc of course was there but without his Brazilian bombshell, Lorenzo Martone, which makes me think the rumors of their break-up are sad but true : (

Louis Vuitton’s spring collection has arrived on its website and denim looks are clearly a part of the mix. This one is called “Denim Surprise.” It wouldn’t be my first choice for an LV bag, but if I were a rich girl I would own it. It’s just too perfect as a summer item. Via Denimology.

When we posted the clogs from Louis Vuitton’s spring 2010 show, reaction was split and even led to accusation that I only liked them because I’m a label ho, which, totally true, but still, my appreciation was real. April Vogue’s sentiment on the shoe, however, was clearly all love–two pages of editorial worth, making it almost devotional in its admiration. (Though only one page–the one scanned here–shows the actually shoe; the opposite is a continuation of the pool).

After making my forever longed for visit to Valley Salon for a manicure (will be posting a feature later that includes an interview with co-owner Julia) I took a stroll around SoHo to snap some shots of storefronts. It was a super sunny day, which is not the best for photographing glass, but ehh, I want to make this a regular feature so I went with what I could get to get the ball moving.
What’s surprising is how crummy some of the windows are and not just because they need a good wash. Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu were fantastic (as they usually are), and I especialy admired how the LV window recalled themes from the Spring 2010 show. But given their usually impeccable runway presentations, I was a little disappointed by Chanel and very disappointed by Burberry.
After the flip find more images of the retailers mentioned here, plus Tokidoki (predictable) and TopShop (totally average).

The March issue of French Elle features model Behati Prinslo0 in a big feature devoted to accessories. Here she is in a very sexy shot wearing a D&G fannie pack. Which, isn’t that shockingly the same as Marc Jacob’s??
