Here are some more print ad photos for Rihanna’s campaign promoting Armani jeans and lingerie. Not sure if this collection has hit retail yet. It was supposed to arrive at Macy’s in November and according to Shefinds, as of mid-December it still hadn’t arrived. As for the lingerie it appears you can buy items featured in the last campaign here.
Seems odd that a giant company like Armani would put together a campaign with a major star and then basically send their target customer on a wild goose chase for product that actually only exists on paper. At least put some sort of update on your Facebook page.
Our post on Damaris’s 20th anniversary collection was quite the eye-popper and now the U.K. lingerie brand follows up with a film noir video featuring the holiday collection, titled, “Packing Heat,” which unabashedly goes for the male libido juggler by combining “knickers, guns and explosions.” Those elements are all well and fine, however, the film works because it’s gorgeously filmed and features amazingly sultry lingerie, the likes of which we have never seen.

After teasing with a couple of overly-short videos Armani comes with the full video, featuring Rihanni wriggling into the brand’s lingerie and denim. Worth a watch because it’s beautifully shot by Steven Klein, as well because of her own extensive music video background Rihanna has mastered the art of the sly glance not to mention the sexy swish. This all plays against Rihanna’s song “Skin,” which couldn’t be more perfect.

Via Inhabitat , a major breakthrough in lingerie and carbon neutral apparel–Marks and Spencer has launched what it claims to be the world’s first carbon-neutral lingerie. The “Autograph Leaves” assortment of bras, thongs, panties, and garter belts supports reforestation efforts in Sri Lanka.
The collection is manufactured in an M&S-run plant in Sri Lanka that draws hydroelectric power from a nearby river and solar energy from rooftop panels, slashing emissions by 33 percent. To offset the remaining carbon footprint, M&S is planting more than 6,000 trees in the barren region between the Kanneliya and Polgahakanda forest reserves, a move that will not only increase natural habitats but also allow wildlife to traffic smoothly between the two locations.

We’ve presented the runway finale video and now here are some of the images from the Victoria’s Secret runway show. That’s superstar model Adriana Lima above, who, judging from the images, stood out as as doing the best job of working the format. This company makes sexy lingerie for the masses and this show is not about setting trends as much creating an extravaganza that garners a lot of publicity and sets a tone for the brand. Still, the show felt a bit heavy with the guilded wings, barbells and then topped off with a performance by the very dramatic Katy Perry. As fashion moves in a lighter direction it would have nice to see VS at least give a nod in that general direction. Though in fairness, the pitch is not for snobby editors, but holiday shoppers so if it came off a bit like a Las Vegas showgirl performance that was probably no accident. After lots of build-up we get a look at the finale from last night’s Victoria’s Secret runway show in New York. Given the amazing girls this company has the power to pull, plus the amount of money that is invested in the show, this event has to be a total blast. Still, if you look at the audience, you see there are a ton of guys in part because the company invites a lot of folks from the investment community to this event, as Victoria’s Secret is part of a company traded on Wall Street. Which is probably why thoughts of Las Vegas titty bars keep springing to mind everytime I watch it!
