Chanel presented its Autumn 2011 ready-to-wear collection for Paris Fashion Week today and as always the arrivals were as entertaining as the runway presentation itself. Karl’s girls always go all out, many of them wearing Chanel head to toe or at the very least carrying a quilted bag or clutch. Above is major girl of the moment, Alexa Chung, on the next page Lily Allen, Anna Wintour, Duffy, Emma Roberts, Leigh Lezark, plus a few more.

Chanel previewed the latest Coco Cocoon bag collection early in May and now the entire collection is being shown online. Many of the bags–with the notable exception of the sheepskin one featured here, along with a few others–are updated versions of styles from a collection that first launched in 2009 with Lily Allen acting as the spokesperson. Time moves on and now Vanessa Paradis is the face of the label. She’s not nearly as fun as Lily, but these days are more serious ones so perhaps the choice was prescient.

Lily Allen performed at the Chanel’s spring 2010 read-to-wear show. She looks cute and relaxed (though the outfit on the back-up singer is just flat-out UGH). This has been a good year for Mademoiselle Allen.

I posted an image from Lily Allen’s Bust magazine photo shoot yesterday and commented that she looked “sort of hot, right?” I used the qualifier “sort of,” to be honest, ’cause I’ve always seen Lily as being adorable, but in a very girlish sort of way. Seeing her as sexy almost seems, I don’t know, wrong! But clearly Ms. Allen, who is shown here at a recent London performance, is showing a more mature side lately, going from vampy fun girl to grown-ass vixen right before our very eyes!  P.S. I love the distressed denim track shorts she’s wearing in these images! P.S.S. In the images after the flip, she’s wearing a cropped leather jacket, which you can buy a similar facsimile (it’s faux leather) from Urban for probably a lot less than Lily paid.

Lily worked the classic Chanel  look for the label’s Autumn 2009 ready-to-wear show in Paris this past week. Young woman looks adorable as usual and I love her eyes (check ‘em out in the far right image), the makeup is minimal but effective. ‘Cause when a female has personality for days like Lily does, it’s better to keep the glop to a minimum lest you cover up all her inner shine.
