Kreayshawn On Cover Of Complex

kreayshawn complex 3 540x348 Kreayshawn On Cover Of Complex

Kreayshawn (who we discover in the interview was born Natassia Zolo and whose mom is Russian–ha, shocker…not!)  is having a coming out party via a cover story in Complex magazine’s October/November issue, in a big feature called “About To Blow” that includes a photo shoot and interview. Here’s what the young lass has to say about her sudden stardom and the resulting chatter–much of it very nasty:

“People are so crazy that they’ll make their own fantasy life story of me. People have such passion loving me and such passion hating me, but it’s good to have passion either way. I never looked at myself as a marketable person. I just try to let my personality shine through. Do you think a 16-year-old girl gives a fuck about where I’m from or what I’ve done? No, she loves the songs.”

There’s a lot of interesting content and it’s definitely more revealing than a lot of bios done so far on her (apparently she’s beefing with half a dozen rappers, including Nicki Minaj!). As for what she wears in the shoot, lots of Jeremy Scott for Adidas, American Apparel and Nike, but no sign of Gucci, Gucci, Louis, Louis, Fendi, Fendi, Prada….

See the photo shoot and a video on the next page.

MTV Video Music Awards: Kreayshawn, Nicki Minaj, Adele, Etc.

MTVKreayshawn 384x540 MTV Video Music Awards: Kreayshawn, Nicki Minaj, Adele, Etc.

The MTV Music Awards last night fashion-wise didn’t do much for me so I only have a few celebs here: Kreayshawn (who is currently working a nude pic scandal), Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga posing as a cast member of “Jersey Shore,” Amber Rose, Katy Perry, Skylar Grey and Adele. In Adele’s photo, check the nude, talon mani. Though for a young woman of 23 she her outfit was a tad matronly, no? Whatever, you know how some days you feel so cynical and can’t stand a thing about celebrities? In fact the opposite? Well I am having one of those days. Enjoy the glitter and don’t mind me glowering in the corner.

Video: Sophy Robson London Salon Opening Party

Nail artist Sophy Robson held a party celebrating the opening of her very first salon on Kings Road in London recently, and the above is a video of the salon interior and the party. (Way to go, woman!) If you’re keeping up, you’ll notice the soundtrack is none other than Kreayshawn’s “Bumpin, Bumpin.” And I’m probably prejudiced, but it’s been my observation (confirmed in this video) that tight nail game almost always equals overall fly style. Not that you can’t be stylish without done nails, but just that you have a higher chance of falling on the not side.

Kreayshawn Chats About Being Signed By Columbia

10 June 2011, 14.34 | Posted in Music, interviews | 1 comment »

The buzz grows louder for songstress Kreayshawn, who was recently interviewed by our friends at Karmaloop TV. The chat took place shortly after she was signed by Columbia Records, which will release “Gucci Gucci” as her first single.

She starts off the interview by providing the correct pronunciation of her name and discusses despositing the advance from Columbia Records with an account balance of $170 and how she always grew up “extremely broke” and with her new money might buy “Cup of Noodles instead of Top Ramen because it comes with a cup….a little fancy.” She also opines on the history and the future of the word swag: “There’s going to be new words but I think swags gonna be….I can’t stop it. I’ve sat and tried to think of words I can replace it with but I can’t…swag.”

If you’re interesting in knowing more, here’s a good interview, in which she lists her mom (a lead guitarists in a few different punk bands), The Spice Girls and Missy Elliots as big influencers.

Gucci 90th Anniverssary ‘1921′ Timepieces

Gucci- 90th anniverssary Collection.2

To celebrate its 90th anniversary Gucci launches a special collection titled “1921,” the year Guccio Gucci founded the illustrious leather goods house. The “1921″ collection includes four slick leather “G-frame” styles for women and two styles of the “Coupe” silhouette for men designed by Frida Giannini. Glamorous and classic, the kind of watch you will want to wear for a very long time.

In my PG version of Kreayshawn it’s not about needing  the double Gs to look fly,  but more about an appreciation for an icon who time and time again provides the hotness. On the next page a look at the men’s styles. For more information visit Gucci’s timepieces microsite Gucci Timeless.
