Chicago-based Kid Sister has launched the second video, “Gucci Rag Top,” from her four-song EP, Kiss & Tell, which goes on sale on November 29th on itunes. Featuring slick work from both Ms. Sister and Detroit’s Danny Brown, video director, Alex 2Tone, cleverly uses a a scrolling Tumblr called Gucci Rag Top as a backdrop, which if it exists in reality I’m not finding it.

Also check out Kid Sister with her hair now cropped, flashing her latest of set of long nails. Far from a newcomer to the artform of done nails, rather she was a pioneer of the current wave, throwing down the guantlet in a video called ”Pro Nails” ft. Kanye West back in 2008. See it on the next page.

In a super cute video of the song “Do!Do!Do” by Carte Blanche, vocals are performed by Kid Sister (who is clearly still getting her nails did!), with direction by Fafi and artist Yue, watch Kid Sister as she is transformed into a trouble-making Fafinette, who springs to life and runs rampant through Youtube. Very fun and original!

Kid Sister performed at the SXSW festival recently, and since the last time we spotted her, her hair has grown out quite a bit to the point where she’s sporting an ultra-fashionable, side braid. And while her locks may have changed, her mani is still super tight. She also has a couple of new videos out. Check out this one called “Daydreaming.” It’s the second single off of her finally dropped debut album called Ultraviolet.

Asics had a big ole party last night celebrating the unveiling of the biggest Lite Brite creation ever. Natch, it was a Lite Brite of an Asics sneaker and there were serious folks in suits from Guiness Book on hand to give Asics its award and everything.  

But in my mind, the real Lite Brite of the evening was Kid Sister, who did a 45 minute or so set at the event. I had no idea that she was gonna be there and damn was I pleasantly surprised to hear the news. And baby girl is JUST as popping in real life as she is in her videos. A total natural-born star/hip chick.

After her performance, Samia and I chatted with her for a minute and she told us that her CD release date had been moved up from early November to late November. Which, not for nothing, chaps my ass!! I mean, things must be pretty damn bad in the industry if it’s putting someone like Kid Sister, who not only has talent, but effervescence and charm to go with it, on stall mode, even if it is only for two weeks. Ugh, when we vote in the change president next month, we should also vote in a new music industry with him.

I’ll admit it, people, I’m not keeping up music-wise. My upness on the scene these days pretty much begins and ends with M.I.A. Slack. I know. So thank god for the ones who keep up. Here’s a video I found on OrangiePorangie featuring The Count & Sinden featuring Kid Sister (I do know her!) and Flosstradamus. The music is almost as fun as the fashion as the dance moves. Or vice versa.

There were some seemingly random guests at the Sex & the City premiere. Not sure why Kid Sister was there. Maybe she has some music on the sountrack? She looks okay here. Just okay.  And given that she made her name bragging about her mani, I’m a little disappointed by the paint job she’s flashing.
