Stussy X Ked’s ‘Taper Toe Champion’

StussyXKeds Stussy X Keds Taper Toe Champion

Don’t know why but I have a feeling this collaboration between Stussy and Keds called “Taper Toe Champion” is going to be a hit. There’s just something very handsome and just slightly different enough about the pointy toe shape, and the eyelets are neat, too.  According to press, the silhouette you see here hasn’t been produced by Ked’s since the 60s. And you can’t make it out in this image, but these kicks are also “espadrille-inspired” and include a rope trim. The collection drops in the Spring and will be available in black, natural and red, which will be exclusive to Stussy stores. Image courtesy of Stussy.

Highsnobette-first look keds f/w 09

Having worn Keds for nearly 20 years now I believe its easy to say they have been a staple in my wardrobe my whole life. I’m a huge fan of classic sneakers and Keds are the epitome of timeless footwear. However, that’s not to say that they haven’t been moving forward with the brand. Fall will be bringing the Eco friendly green line pictured above. I love the mid top velvet with purple detailing and the small green Keds logo, something they have never touched upon before.  The new fall 09 collection also featured some great simplified looks like a lace front low top in a grey sweatshirt material and a full blackout canvas.  A little birdie told me that Keds has some big things in the works and Highsnobette will be sure to keep you updated.

More from Keds Fall/Winter 2009 collection after the jump.

Since the whole ponzi scheme that I always said Wall Street was finally blew up in everyone’s faces, retailers are freaked out beyond belief and only carrying the most basic of shit. Fortunately online retailers are hanging tough and still offering shoes in colors other than black and brown. Case in point these Keds-inspired shoes by Rubber Duck

(Sorry for the sideways image, but I’m trying to avoid getting three different lectures which basically translate to: "Oh my god!! The image is the too long!!! Jeezus, what is wrong with you??? Are you THAT retarded?")
