The MTV Music Awards last night fashion-wise didn’t do much for me so I only have a few celebs here: Kreayshawn (who is currently working a nude pic scandal), Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga posing as a cast member of “Jersey Shore,” Amber Rose, Katy Perry, Skylar Grey and Adele. In Adele’s photo, check the nude, talon mani. Though for a young woman of 23 she her outfit was a tad matronly, no? Whatever, you know how some days you feel so cynical and can’t stand a thing about celebrities? In fact the opposite? Well I am having one of those days. Enjoy the glitter and don’t mind me glowering in the corner.
A cute video of Katy Perry for Adidas as part of its “All In” ad campaign, in which the pop star bats those big doll eyes of hers and chats about what inspires her. She also mentions her favorite designers, which, no shocker, one of them is Jeremy Scott who is part of the campaign, too.
The MTV Video Music Awards is still in progress, and the show seems a little flatter than usual. Though it’s as consistently unfunny as it’s always been, that’s for sure. As far as celebs go, there is very much a broken record/usual suspects feel: Katy Perry flashing her mani, Lady Gaga with a whacky head piece, Rihanna looking avant guard…blah, blah, blah. From manicure expert AllLaqueredUp, we discovered that Katy Perry tweeted pictures of the manicure we wrote about a few days ago. Manicurist to the stars, Kimmie Kyes, is the one responsible for the design, which featured customized tips using Milani Hi-Res polish.
The Kids’ Choice Awards took place this weekend and Key Perry knocked it out with a Princess Hijinks look that has become her signature. Her dress was by The Blondes and as you can see here, she had a coordinated 3-D mani. Beyonce’s three looks (arrival: Stephane Rolland; performance: Versace and audience: Georgio Armani) weren’t my favorites, I actually liked Ciara (Givency with diamonds by Cartier) best, but I did like this image of Bee for her earrings and of course her great manicure. And then, too, the tattoo intriques. What does it read, anyone know?
Overall, there was more fashion eye candy than at the Golden Glodes, which makes sense given it’s a music crowd, but still, I still feel like celebs are playing it safe and it would be nice if they could bring a little more of their performance personalities onto the red carpet.
After the flip, some of the looks I liked the most, on Adrienne Lau, Beyonce, Ciara, Fergie, Jennifer Lopez (Versace), Katy Perry (Zac Posen) and Rihanna (Elie Saab). I thought Taylor Hick’s [Upate: Swift not Hicks!] dress was actually quite beautiful, but I’m still bitter over her being paired to perform with Stevie Nicks, whose level Swift will never come close to approaching, and her winning the best album so I left her out. Who did you guys like?
Cute picture of Katy Perry and RihRih sharing a gut-busting laugh. Perry’s style has me very much on the fence, but I’ve always been awed by her perfect skin. And if you haven’t already, check out Rihanna’s mani! I’m wondering if it’s CalGel, which I’m dying to try!

Apropos of nothing to do with fashion (except that we like Kate’s style), I spotted this polaroid photo of Katy and Trav smooching at the Life Ball, which took place a couple days back in Vienna. Didn’t those two split up? I guess they’re in one of those on-again-off-again-soul-wrenching relationships. Like my sis once said about crazy relationships, you don’t get off the ride until it’s over! Amen, hermana.
