As part of its superstar theme for the December issue of Vogue U.K., the magazine called on photographer Mario Testino for an editorial titled “Star Girls,” which features many of the industry’s heaviest hitting beauties, including Kate, Moss (above), Angela Lindvall, Claudia Schiffer, Freja Beha Erichsen, Lara Stone (after the flip), Stella Tennant (after the flip), Georgia May Jagger, and a bunch more. Kate Moss is featured on the cover of rocker Bryan Ferry’s latest album, “Olympia,” as photographed by Adam Whitehead. Moss is one of a long line of beauties featured on Ferry’s albums, most from when he was a member of Roxy Music. According to Dailymail, one of the covers featured Jerry Hall, who Ferry proposed to. They were engaged until she was swept away by Mick Jagger. On choosing Moss, Ferry commented, “I normally use unknown women–it’s nice to discover girls for that kind of thing. But this time I thought it would be a good idea to ask Kate, because she’s a great femme fatale of our era.” Additional black and white images from the shoot via Nowness on the next page.
Brazilian lingerie company Valisere brought on Kate Moss for its 2010 ad campaign, which was shot by Gui Paganini. Funnily enough, the post at FashionGoneRogue, also includes credit for the retoucher! More of the great Kate in her skivvies after the flip.
I could not ignore the huge hole that is missing at London Fashion Week and that is Alexander McQueen. Even though McQueen had not attended London Fashion Week since 2001, knowing that he would never design another collection is truly a huge loss for the creative industry. Stars including Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Moss, Anna Wintour and Bjork (who also performed) paid a special tribute to McQueen at a special one hour ceremony at St.Pauls Cathedral, London. I think the video tribute sums up the awe-inspiring, determined, outlandish genius that was McQueen. AK.
In what is looking like it’s shaping up to be a very successful pairing, Longchamp recently announced the second installment from its collaboration with Kate Moss. There are three different groups for fall, plus a revisit to the initial collection, which featured lots of zebra prints. The profiles remain classic, which in it of iteself is a plus, but what makes the collection stand on its own two legs are the color and treatment choices. Via Jalou.
Alexander McQueen’s funeral was held yesterday at Saint Paul’s Church in London. It was a private funeral, attended only by family and close friends, which included Naomi, Kate Moss, and Stella McCartney. According to the Daily News, “Members of the family wore McQueen tartan, which the designer draped across much of his 2006 ”Highland Rape” fashion show.” Very sad day for those who loved him.
Love’s magazine has done several different series featuring very cutting edge (or naughty depending on your maturity level) photos of some of the industry’s biggest models. The latest features Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell as photographed by Mert Allas and Marcus Piggot. The image on this page is one of the least racy and features Kate Moss’s legs in a pair of Louboutins. The photos are amazing as is the level of intimacy revealed.
Be warned, should you click on the link, the page will feature a LOT of nudity. Source: FashionGoneRogue.
