If you were paying attention to spring 2010 collections, you know clogs were viewed as a breakout trend. However, there seems to be a fair amount of trepidation in approaching this trend, like folks aren’t altogether convinced. Part of the problem is that clogs a la Ecco have never gone away and are pretty much the opposite of fashion. These Seychelle clogs are appealing because the design is fresh feeling, plus, given that they feature a wooden heel (and none of the heinous staples that I despise with all my heart) and are priced at $96, they’re pretty a good bet for making a committment that won’t break your heart if it doesn’t work out.

We started a series of posts last week on Karmaloop’s top three selling categories for spring. First up was dresses, then leggings, and now we bring you the third-hottest category, tops.  From the left: Dimepiece’s ‘Love Bills,’ top; BB Dakota’s ‘Baretta‘ lace top; and Quicksilver’s ‘Sound Check’ shirt. I live the Quicksilver one the best. After all, I’ve known for a loooong time that love don’t pay the bills simply because I DO and I like it that way!

We posted yesterday about Karmaloop’s No. 1 category, dresses, and promised we would follow-up with its second-most-popular category today. And the winner for hot category No. 2 is……leggings! The top selling leggings style (shown from left to right above) for Karmaloop is Tripp NYC’s “Indigo Acid Wash” denim leggings. (It’s a look that’s not getting a lot of love from editorial, but I know from speaking to people in retail that they are hot everywhere, not just K-loop.) After Tripp, comes Married to the Mob’s “Crayon Logo” leggings, and then Kill City’s “Oh La La” leggings. Tomorrow, the third most-popular category on Karmaloop for women. I think it’seasy to guess what it is, but then again I know what it is.

Fashion lovers are starting to stock up on spring items so we checked in with our buddies at Karmaloop and asked them to tell us what their right-now, three hottest categories are. Dresses are at the top of the list so that’s where’s we’re going to start. The three styles you see on this page are currently the hottest sellers on the site. From left to right: Blaque Label’s “Ramona,” Motel’s “Pamela Chain“ and for a dash of flowers to lighten the mood, Jack BB Dakota’s “Jonica.” Stayed tuned for hot categories No. 2 and 3. Karmaloop honors a different woman each month on its blog and for March they chose accessory designer Melody Ehsani. Her line is very tough, but still fun and original. Kind of like she takes the piss out of the whole fashion-hard-edge theme by giving it a big tickle in the ribs.
