Hervé L. Leroux  partnered with New York’s Joya studio on a unique scented candle  design inspired by his creation of the iconic bandage dress under the Hervé Leger label :

Giroflée” is an ancient little flower with a powerful, spellbinding fragrance, captured in Hervé’s garden especially by Joya to create the top note of the scent. Jasmine petals, magnolia blossom, gardenia and tubéreuse have been selected for the heart. Musk and cedarwood represent the drydown.

As a  multi-sensory experience Joya Studio combined the launch of its “Âmes Sœurs” perfume with the words of writer M.J Rose from The Book of Lost Fragrances and the taste of   rose water  lapsang souchong chocolate truffles by Dennison Lee.  Âmes Sœurs (translation: soul mates) creates in a scent a sense of  of intimacy and softness that can only be experienced at close proximity. Citrusy at first the Rayda Vega designed solid perfume  sold in  a porcelain and 22Kt gold container,  later reveals hints of  and musk and incense like a gentle whisper. A perfect gift to give or receive, the camouflage lover in me is very pleased with the latest from  Joya Studio, the “Army Candle Project,” a double-candle housed in vintage British Army soap dishes marked 1945:

Two scents are poured in a natural soy wax blend: Dawn (Amber Absolute) and Dusk (Bitter Orange Leaf). The candles are packaged in British DPM camouflage that has been tailored by hand in the size of a traditional handkerchief. This can be used as a coaster for the metal candle, which may become hot while lit. Finally, the item is wrapped in olive green paracord—a simple, practical gesture reminiscent of Japanese packaging. Only 100 have been produced, and each fabric wrap is stamped and numbered.

We are excited to give you a first look at the second collaboration between jewellery designer Geoffrey Young and Brooklyn’s own Joya Studio.
