Yesterday in Shanghai marked the opening of World Jewellery Facets by Swarovski Elements, with several designers  exhibiting awe-worthy crystal apparel and accessories. On the next page a closer look at Spain’s Jose Miro, who created two pieces. The “Nano” (above)  made of 10,000 crystals, is designed to mimic the neural connection and inspired by the words of  Buddha: “All that we are is the result of what we think, shapes and lines design recreate neurons and the connection between them.”   The second work, “Empress,” inspired by the Empress Maria Theresa of Austria,  consists of 30,000 units. In the spirit of approaching fashion week  in NYC,  take a look at José Miró ’s Spring/Summer 2010 Collections presented in Madrid. The clothes are sleek , sexy but most of all they move. Miro managed to pull of some intricate draping and layering without losing softness. Enjoy.
