Nabil Elderkin who has already worked with Kanye West, Frank Ocean and Bon Iver, directed the video for Jeremy Scott’s adidas Originals Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The video features narration from the designer who explains that he wants to make a robot version of Andy Warhol and shows us by the way the collection featuring leopard prints, Mexixan dead head prints and of course wings on almost every piece. Here is a first look at the Adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott Spring 2013 collection. Yes, we know that Jeremy Scott’s creations are always very eccentric, but somehow he always manages to surprise us or at least makes us wonder about whether we could ever feel fierce enough to wear his sneakers. Staying with the theme of plush toys, the line this time around features a pink poodle and camo bear. The sneakers will officially release March 15th and can be preordered from LuisaViaRoma.
One of the highlights of Jeremey Scott’s delightful Spring 2013 collection was his collaboration with New Era. The hats feature fringe, gold appliques and exotic skins for a look that we already know will win over hearts next Spring. See the complete collection on the flip courtesy of New Era. In an Adidas Originals video spot, Nicki Minaj along with Jeremy Scott (the fiercest!), Big Sean, 2NE1, Kids These Days and Derrick Rose are featured walking the streets of Paris, New York Tokyo and Rio De Janeiro. Minaj’s song “Masquerade” plays in the background. Visually it is a major treat and Minaj is pretty much the perfect foil for the collection.
On a side note, reading through the comments on Youtube there’s a bit of a back forth going on over what the bigger deal is–Minaj’s appearance in the video or Korean all-female pop group 2NE1’s. They are new to me and if they are to you, too, check out an image of the group on the next page.
