[Fake] Vogue: Women Of Pop Music – Madonna, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Etc.

VogueFebruary2013 540x262 [Fake] Vogue: Women Of Pop Music Madonna, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Etc.

UPDATE: A reader tells us this is a “fake, fan made cover.” Which, yea, makes sense–lol, can’t see all of these ladies going along with this. Cher kneeling at Gaga’s feet? Bish pleez! We’ll leave it up for now just ’cause it’s a pretty nicely rendered knock off!

Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Cher, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Jennifer Lopez are all featured on Vogue’s February 2013 cover, titled “Dirrty Pop: The Women of Pop Music.” Each artist is named along with her top-selling single.

And while there are already accusations of photoshopping, it’s clear the shoot was meant to be highly stylized and painterly, but whether that’s because it would have been impossible to gather all these busy divas in one room for the shoot and this was a workaround or that was the intent from the get go is less clear. My question is whether there was any jockeying around who was positioned where on the cover. I mean, I’d be disappointed if there wasn’t!

Looking flawless as always, Jennifery Lopez lands of the cover of Harper’s Bazaar February 2013 issue, as shot by Katjia Rawles on locatio at the Ciragen Palance Hotel in Instanbul. At the time of the shoot, Lopez was in the midst of an international tour accompanied by her two twins, Max & Emme, her mother, Guadalupe, and her boyfriend, Casper Smart. Discussing her style, Lopez comments:

Over the past two decades, she has evolved from a “boyish, hip-hoppy sensibility: big hoops, sneakers, tank tops, and my big curly hair. When I got into the business, I developed a love of monochromatic looks.” But then she “added that sexy element to it. Then it was classic things, movie stars, Jackie O. And now,” she says, exhaling, “all of these things mixed together, that’s my style.”

As a sexy boxer, Jennifer Lopez graces the cover of  V magazine, styled by Carine Roitfeld and photographed by Mario Testino. In her interview  she candidly hints to the toughness needed to stay the course and beat the odds:

Lopez posed for a boxer-fighter-survivor photo shoot with Mario Testino for this magazine— a theme symbolic of her career of late. “I can take a lot of punches and still keep going,” she says. “I’ve been trained like a boxer to go 15 rounds.”

Grammy Fashion: Beyonce, Rihanna, etc.

GramBeyonceClose Grammy Fashion: Beyonce, Rihanna, etc.

Beyonce’s three looks (arrival: Stephane Rolland; performance: Versace and audience: Georgio Armani) weren’t my favorites, I actually liked Ciara (Givency with diamonds by Cartier) best, but I did like this image of Bee for her earrings and of course her great manicure. And then, too, the tattoo intriques. What does it read, anyone know?

Overall, there was more fashion eye candy than at the Golden Glodes, which makes sense given it’s a music crowd, but still, I still feel like celebs are playing it safe and it would be nice if they could bring a little more of their performance personalities onto the red carpet.

After the flip, some of the looks I liked the most, on Adrienne Lau, Beyonce, Ciara, Fergie, Jennifer Lopez (Versace), Katy Perry (Zac Posen) and Rihanna (Elie Saab). I thought Taylor Hick’s [Upate: Swift not Hicks!] dress was actually quite beautiful, but I’m still bitter over her being paired to perform with Stevie Nicks, whose level Swift will never come close to approaching, and her winning the best album so I left her out. Who did you guys like?

Marc Jacobs: S/S 09 Fashion Week: Shoes and Schvitzing Only!

09 September 2008, 16.57 | Posted in Uncategorized | No comments »

I’m not sure why, but at WireImage, the only images featured from the Marc Jacobs show, aka the most-coveted NY Fashion Week ticket in town, were some shots of shoes and the rich and famous backstage. Oh well, when it comes to Marky-Marc, we’ll take whatever shreds we can get!

MJShoes2 Marc Jacobs: S/S 09 Fashion Week: Shoes and Schvitzing Only!

^^Interesting. The ones in the center remind me of a praying mantis for some reason.

UPDATE: Marc has a video of S/S 09 on his site. It’s beautiful. The overall look is a tad buttoned up for my tastes, but almost every outfit includes an item, whether a jacket, bag or skirt, that is highly covetable. I think he got yelled at by critics for being too conservative in his last show so maybe this is an answer to that.

On the flip, images of Vic Beckham sporting her new pixie, plus her, Marc and Jennie from the Block all schvitzing. Even the rich and famous sweat.
