Curbed brings us all the details on J.Crew’s Jenna Lyon’s townhouse sale. It might not normally be much of a big deal but it comes on the tail of the break-up with her husband and hook up with a woman, AND the interior is amazing and beautiful.

One thing you know if you spend any time in Brooklyn is that brownstone or townhouses are very charming, yes, but they’re also narrow to what feels like the extreme by modern-day standards. What’s so awesome about Lyon’s place is what an amazing job she did working around that factor, making it almost a non-issue. For instance check out the bright walls, narrow dining room table and armless chair and sofa, all of which open up the space.

As part of a series on dream jobs, Oprah checked in with J.Crew’s Exectuive Creative Director, Jenna Lyons, to see what she gets up to in a day. I’m mad that I couldn’t imbed the video, but in the capture above Jenna explains her shoe collection. On the next page, there’s also an image capture of Jenna in her sparkle harem pants. On the Oprah video, her life does indeed seem pretty idylic (supportive husband + adorable 3-year old), but still, J.Crew is a public company so the non-stop feeling of a piano hanging over your head has to pretty much always be there. Pressure baby, not everyone can handle it.

 J.Crew x Fenton/Fallon Carrington Necklaces

Any serious fashion observer in NYC cannot ignore that J.Crew has been gaining serious ground as a brand and as a retailer with the success of their smaller men’s stores and of Madewell. The women’s J.crew line however  although fueled by The First Lady’s flawless style  has not fully gained the same momentum as the other divisions.

 The line has been rediscovered by  the women who wore high end classy fashion, became alot more fun and playful contrasting high and low, dressy and casual but still a little too pricey  in our opinion . If this collabo with  Dana Loren’s Fenton -Fallon is a sign of what is to come, looks like  J.Crew women’s “hot” factor could be on its way . Don’t sleep on Jenna Lyons! Another necklace on the flip.
