5th cover Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair Woman Autumn/Winter 2009

Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair , created by Astrid Olsson and Lee Cotter, presented their Autumn /Winter 2009 collection  at Stockholm Fashion Week in January. The collection  continues the label’s commitment to fine craftsmanship and construction with a mostly dark palette sprinkled with some delightful plaid  and khaki pieces. We were lucky enough to see  some of the pieces and accessories at Capsule . The shoes of course got me too…

fenton 9 cover Fenton Spring /Summer 2009

Dana Lorenz created Fenton in 2005 and it immediately became a success. Big names like Barneys in New York and Ikram in Chicago picked up the line in its  first season!

Dona’s talent in this over saturated accessories world is her  flawless use of materials seldomly used together like snakeskin, pearls, ribbon and studs(above), and her ability to design jewelry that  is classic, edgy and at the same time, somewhat random(which we love), but never clumsy.  Fenton  Spring/ Summer 09 is HighSnobette approved !

Ps. Also check out Dana’s other line Fallon–hawt !!!

corto moltedo 02 Corto Moltedo Opens in Paris

Gabrielcorto Moltedo (above), an  heir to the Bottega Veneta empire, has garnered quite a following with his superb handbag line,  Corto Moltedo . To celebrate the label’s five years, he recently opened his own store in the Palais Royale Arcades in Paris. From what we can see, the design of the store  is simple and sleek, allowing the customer to focus on the object of their lust, the handbags. Highlighting the product is always a good aspect to develop in store design!

cm1 Cheap Monday Woman Autumn/Winter 09

Here’s a look at one of my favorite labels out of Sweden Cheap Monday’ s Autumn/Winter 09 .Here’s what the designers had to say about their views and place in the market:

“After five years our idea still remains: to offer the customer fashion at an extremely good price. By putting Cheap Monday alongside more expensive brands in good stores where we like to shop ourselves, we aim to create clothes that compete with high-end brands both in attitude and fashion level as well as in quality.”via berns

News Flash: Betsey Johnson & Opening Cermony Team up

News Flash: Betsey Johnson X Opening Ceremony

Betsey Johnson, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Opening Ceremony will be teaming up to collaborate on the reinvention of 35 of her pieces from her early days. Titled the “Betsey Johnson Archive”, the line will go up for sale come Fall in limited Opening Ceremony shops as well as some of Betsey’s own boutique. I’m guessing the line will have an overall rock and roll feel. Betsey is now known for her over the top, girlie girl cocktail dresses, however she was once a force to be reckoned with on the NYC punk scene and she even designed“punk label” years ago.

Highsnobette will be sure to keep you updated on the Betsey J. and Opening Ceremony collabo.
