carocover Carine Gilson Lingerie Couture

One of the things that get me every time in fashion is craftmanship. Therefore, the Lingerie Couture  by Carine Gilson, an Antwerp Academy graduate is of course on my radar. Entirely handmade by seamstresses  in Brussels  the pieces  artfully  mix natural silks and chantilly lace in a symphony of feminity that is elegant, sexy without ever trying to be cute. J’aime beaucoup! More of my faves from Carine Gilson  on the flip. Some pieces  are available at net-a-porter.

Capsule Show LV: Ladyboy Fall Preview ‘09

Highsnobette- capsule show ladyboy

During the (Capsule) show in Las Vegas Highsnobette got to get an early viewing of Ladyboy shoes. Primarily showing flats, the collection has a serious menswear vibe. For Ladyboy it’s all about the small details that add up to create a major statement. For instance, a red lining, a super sexy cut out revealing the ankle, and a skinny fit hugging the curve of one’s foot perfectly. Each pair from the collection could easily transition from day to night making them the perfect addition to the shoe closet of those stiletto shy ladies out there.

More from Ladyboy after the jump.

Fred Perry Fall 2009 Preview

Highsnobette- Fred perry spring 09 preview

Fred Perry was started as an athletic wear company and has since grown into a street wear staple. While it is their menswear collection that usually gets press, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had kicked it up a notch for their womenswear fall 2009 line. In fact, I pretty much fell in love with a dozen or so pieces so much so that last night I actually dreamt about their leather pencil skirt. Butter soft leather, a small laurel detail (Fred Perry’s infamous logo), and a peek-a-boo hot pink satin lining, all add up to a dream purchase.  They make a matching jacket as well, creating a suit for the younger set with a serious edge. The line was all about taking modern approaches on classics. One major piece, a black trench, with added patent leather elbow patches as well as detailing on the collar, had a futuristic feel. The accessories were killing it and the knit wear looked so refined and cool. Overall the collection was bananas and at the top of my list for must haves for Fall ‘09.

Be sure to hit up the jump for a preview of Fred Perry Fall 2009.

Sophomore NYC Spring 2009 Look Book

highsnobette-sophomore look book

Sophomore NYC has released their Spring 2009 look book photographed by Cass Bird. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the brand, Sophomore has a simplistic look featuring a full men’s and women’s line of sportswear basics inspired by the lower east side in the 1970’s. Their Spring look book gives us a great feel for what the line is trying to portray through their current collection. It’s very sexy yet laid back and casual. The best piece is definitely the white mini dress with diamond cutouts at the waist. You can pick up a few looks online at Bona Drag or head to Sophomore’s own website for store listings.

Lots more from the Sophomore Spring ‘09 look book after the jump.

Hayden harnett motorcycle vest

RavinStyle.com, one of my favorite web stores just announced that they now carry a few pieces from Hayden Harnett. Hayden Harnett is an apparel and accessory line based out of Brooklyn. They are known for their great work with leather and the piece above is sure fire proof that they can make one of the toughest materials look feminine. This motorcycle vest in light grey with a super long tunic length works perfectly over a vintage floral dress or jeans and tee.

More of the Hayden Harnett looks available at ravinstyle.com after the jump.

First Look: Cassette Playa Fall ‘09

First Look: Cassette Playa fall 09

Highsnobette got a preview of whats is to come from unisex line Cassette Playa this fall. Known for her love of day glo color choices and neu rave influences, designer Carrie Mundane provided us with a collection that is more subtle. The graphics are still over the top but the color ways are a lot more subdued so expect a lot of black and white mixed in, something we haven’t seen a lot of from Cassette Playa. This almost laid back color palette showcases what I feel is Mundane’s true calling, a knack for graphics that really stand out.
