Heidi and Seal are done and have issued a standard issue divorce statement:
“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”
This is one of the unions most will be sad to see end. Despite their very different backgrounds they somehow seemed right for each other. Plus there was the quick succession of kids. Just more evidence that celebs all play a bit of a reality game and what is displayed publically often has little connection to what is happening privately.
As we mentioned in the last post on the Golden Globe Awards, there is much more to be found when focusing on the closeups rather than just the wide angle dress shot. Last post we looked at accessories, and in this post we look at hair and makeup. The reoccuring theme this year was soft updos, subdued shades of lipstick, upper-lid eyeliner with eyebrows often the biggest statement maker on the face. Earrings were usually lightweight and small and necklaces were often absent altogether.
On this page we featured Evan Rachel Wood who we think epitomized this year’s biggest makeup trends, working a look that was simplistically stunning. See Angelina Jolie, Heidi Klum, Charlize Theron, Debra Messing, Dianna Agron, Helen Mirren, Kelly Osbourne, Mila Kunis, Paula Patten, Madonna, Rooney Mara and many more on the next page.
The Golden Globe Awards took place last night, and as we all know by now if you’re looking for runway-inspired, forward-looking fashion on Hollywood’s red carpets you will not find it. The focus is on classic gowns in whatever handful of sold-colored hues that happen to be popular at the moment. The shame really is that images are so focused on the dress because if you get up close and personal, there are amazing details in the form of belts, clutches, rings, bracelets and occassionally even nail art.
That’s Nicole Richie’s blinged out situation above. On the next page see close ups of more accessories as flashed by Debra Messing, Diane Lane, Heidi Klum, Jessica Alba, Mary J. Blige, Tilda Swinton, Madonna, Katherine McPhee and a bunch more. All images via Zimbio.
More quasi-naked celebs, this time its Hedi Klum and Giselle, flashing their beautifully-toned bodies for GQ Russia. One more of Heidi on next page, plus Gisele covered only by her hands and arms. Via.
Amfar, an organization founded to stop the spread of AIDS, held its 2nd Annual Inspiration Gala at the Museum of Modern Art in New York last night, an event paying tribute to James Franco and Michael Kors. Above is the always alluring Heidi Klum (love her tanned skin against the Caribbean blue gown!), on the next page images of Alek Wek, Courtney Love, Liza Minelli, Chanel Iman, Jennifer Hudson and more.

Much ado was made about Victoria’s Secret fashion show at the end of last week. It hadn’t been done for a few seasons and the idea is that its reemergence is some sign of optimism. The show was okay. You can can tell the brand is trying to be more Viki, aka, playful and modern, and less Victoria. I’m not NOT a fan (bought some adorable panties at a VS store a couple weeks back), but I thought the show was just okay. Still, there was some great people watching as always at the show. I picked Heidi for the front page shot because I thought she look amazing (check out her finger accessories!), though when I saw she was quoted at the show as still needing to lose 20 pounds I couldn’t help but feel dismayed and a little disappointed. Oh Heidi. Still think she’s a peach.
After the jump: Keri Hilson looking super fab and shaking hands with Mr. Knowles, plus two daughters whose mothers’ fame precedes them: Chanel Iman and Julia Restoin-Roitfeld.
And guess what today’s Flashback Friday video is?? That’s right: “You’ve got the look I want to know better, you’ve got the look that’s all together. Working. Playing. Day or night. Jordache has the fits that riiiiiiiiiight. The Jordache look. The Jordache loooooook!.”
