Kanye West Ft. In Vogue March + Spotted In TopShop

17 February 2012, 18.51 | Posted in Designer Collaboration, celebrity | No comments »

KanyeVogue (1)

Another item to drive the #kanyemakesmeangry folks nuts, he’s featured in an editorial with “it” designer Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy in Vogue’s March issue. In other fashion news, he was spotted in the TopShop offices this morning so perhaps a collabo is in the queue? The talk has been swirling on that one for a minute but his presence in corporate firms up the rumor a bit. And then of course there’s his next collection to be shown during Paris Fashion Week on March 6th.

See another page from the editorial and the Twit pic of Kanye in TopShop on the next page.

givenchy panther

It’s probably sacrilegious to mention an illustrious “maison” like Givenchy, and the Thunder Cats in the same sentence but truly  that is the first thing that came to mind  at first glance of these frames. Hence the reason why we’re  smitten with the Givenchy “Panther” eyewear collection. And the fur on the rims? We’re melting. See many more hues at Stylepantry.

The Swag Of Givenchy & Riccardo Tisci

givenchycouture2 360x540 The Swag Of Givenchy & Riccardo Tisci

Givenchy gets the “Swag Or No Swag?” treatment, and natch, comes out on top in poll results. Not suprising because these days head designer Riccardo (oops) Roberto Tisci very much has that “it” aura floating all around him.

The dress above is from Givenchy’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. It seems like back interest and half exposed butts are quite the theme thus far in the couture presentations. Is that inspired by all the pop stars–especially Lady Gaga, who have been exposing their bums as of late?

The entire collection at Fgr. The front of the dress featured here on the next page.

GivenchyResort2012 385x540 Givenchy Fave Resort 2012 Collection So Far

Definitely my fave resort collection thus far. Super love for everything on this page–the visor, key chain(!!!), the skirt and the coordinated shoes–it’s luxury doing its deftest dance with street, which, something like the Wicked Witch has my heart melting. (Double props for using models of colors other than white.) Riccardo Tisci Supposedly Replacing Galliano At Dior

GivenchyRiccardoTisci1 Riccardo Tisci Supposedly Replacing Galliano At Dior

All sorts of fashion sites have said it’s been “confirmed” that Riccardo Tisci, currently the head designer for Givenchy, will be replacing John Galliano at Christian Dior. At this point the confirmation seems to be a lot of people repeating the same rumor on Twitter, making it far from official news. If it is him, just to get up to speed, Tisci was born in Italy, is 35 and began designing for Givenchy in February 2005. Christian Dior is publically traded and thus very numbers minded so if it is indeed looking at Tisci, it’s in part because Givenchy has grown since Tisci landed there, with an added plus that over his past few collections he’s begun to really hit his stride creatively. Another plus is that Givenchy, like Christian Dior, is a couture label so there would be less of a adjustment period in that respect.

Still, while he may be a great candidate and the only one on Dior’s short list, given the intense level of scandal it just experienced, you’d have to guess that its doing a very, very thorough background check of Tisci so even if he’s the company’s No. 1 nominee, it could be a minute before the announcement is made official.

Carine Roitfeld Spotted In Givenchy At Amfar Event

AmfarCarineRoitfeld&DVF

We have a post-Vogue-Paris-break-up photo of Carine Roitfeld (that’s her with Diane Von Furstenberg above), spotted in Givenchy in New York last night at the Amfar Gala, which raises funds for AIDS research. Perhaps not coincidentally, we read on Fashioncopious this morning of more rumors on her departure from Vogue. The latest version, which comes from Cathy Horyn at the NY Times, is that there were complaints about her lack of presence as a manager (a la Nina Garcia and Elle) and Roitfeld offered in a threatening sort of way to resign….like, oh, you don’t like it, then fine, I’ll leave! And much to her surprise, the response was, great, don’t let the door hit on your way out! And part of the fallout was that Roitfeld and Emmanuelle Alt, who nabbed the editor in chief spot, are no longer speaking. Quelle novella!

After the flip, a better view of Roitfeld’s dress, plus images of Iman, Anna Wintour and her bestie Blake Lively, Donna Karan, Karen Elson performing, and Olivier Theyskens.
