GaranceDoreNetAPorter 540x352 Ad: Garance Dore For Net A Porter

Garance Dore as photographed by Patrick Demarchelier for Net-A-Porter’s Autumn 2012 campaign. Gosh she looks great and what a beautiful shot. Here’s what Dore had to say about the campaign on her blog:

“Fast forward a few weeks later, here we are, Patriiiiiiiick and I, talking about vacation. The wonderful stylist Ludivine Poiblanc is pep-talking me, “but of course, you will fit in that dress” and Kate Young and Amanda de Cadenet, the two other models of the campaign (two great and totally bad ass girls as Em, my assistant says – I am so proud to have been chosen amongst them!) are getting prepared.”

I am quite sure Dore is not perfect, but whenever I see and read of her and her many projects, it’s hard not to think her fella, Scott Schuman, really made out landing her!

A longtime  favorite, Chioma Nnadi, previously with Fader and now a fashion writer at Vogue, was interviewed by Garance Doré. You get a glimpse at her background, the day she met Anna Wintour, what she loves about her job and  more :

“For me the most exciting part about the job is in discovery. I like featuring an under-the-radar designer hat you might not expect to find in Vogue. It was one of the reasons I started reading Vogue in the first place.

“Also, I’m a real nerd about fashion, and for me just being in an environment where I can totally indulge and say things like, ‘what do you think about this pink? Or these shoes?’ Being around people who are just as nerdy about fashion as me is really exciting. At the end of the day I’m not saving lives. We’re not writing about world politics. We’re writing about shoes, bags, dresses, hats.”

Garance Interviewed On New Jay-Z Site

GaranceDoreByScottSchuman Garance Interviewed On New Jay Z Site

All of the internets are buzzing that Mr. Sean Carter has launched a site titled Lifeandtimes. It includes style features and while clearly more for a male audience, among the neckties and men’s shoes was an interview with street photographer Garance Dore (that’s her above in a photo accompanying the interview, shot by her fella, Scott Schuman). Here are a few of her responses:

L+T: What’s the most fashionable place you’ve ever been?
GD: Anna Della Russo’s closet.

L+T: Who are three artists in your iPod that you’ll never take out?
GD: Leonard Cohen, Serge Gainsbourg, Destiny’s Child

L+T: What fashion trends should we be looking forward to in 2011?
GD: I love hats and I would like to see more women and men adopting them into their wardrobe.

Note the nod to Beyonce! Definitely it will be interesting to see if the famously private Jay-Z will use his insider access to create compelling content. So far he’s playing his hand chest close and like a lot of things Carter-related, you feel a wall. Though given this is just day one, it’s will take a few weeks to tell.
