Ce Ce Chen, founder and designer for 80%20 (inspired by the theory that 20 percent of wardrobe is worn 80 percent of the time) is one of those females that’s beloved around these parts. She’s smart, creative, a total go-getter, not to mention a cutie from the inside out. She was showing her fall 2008 line at FFANY and here are some of the highlights (she didn’t show her riding boot style ’cause it’s already sold out!):

What I like about Italian shoe brand Superga is that it’s not only a legitimate brand with a heritage, but it’s also got love for women. Converse may dabble in femmy colors and treatments, but for Superga, there’s a clear focus on keeping up with current fashion trends.

Next up from my visit to FFANY is NoMass, a brand-spanking new men’s and women’s shoe line. I had no introduction to this company other than I passed their suite (one part of the show was held in hotel rooms at the New York Hilton) and their shoes caught my eye. Unlike almost everyone else at the show, they were actually taking some chances!

Here was my fave, no surprise part of it is white and features patent leather!:

^^I wanna say this one is called Raine. The line launches in the fall (though I think this one is spring 2009) and I’m told you should be able to purchase it on Zappos.

^^Don’t know the name of these, but they are super fun and a perfect denim match up.

The shoes will be priced from $75 to $135 and they’re leather-lined!

It’s been a busy week for me. Yesterday I put in some time at FFANY, a New York shoe show. Not much stood out, but there were a few things. First up, Glory Chen, a brand that on Sunday up a store in SoHo at 121 Greene Street. These shoes are perfect for that mature, designed-minded female who is over being trendy, but still wants to stand out, albeit in a more subtle/clever manner:

FFANY, a big New York shoe show was yesterday so despite our lack of sleep from attending the M.O.B. party the night before, me and Samiya went to check it out. Samiya got some great images of some Faryl Robin gladiator shoes, which I’m sure she’ll post, but the highlight of the day was our visit with Ce Ce Chin, head designer in charge of 80%20.

We photographed her spring line (see images below), and got a peek at her fall line, which is amazing (no images of those–sorry–the knock-off artists in this industry are just to vicious and when you’re a small designer the fact is that all you have is your creativity and if you don’t protect it it absolutely will be stolen).

These were my faves for spring. I WISH so BAD that they came in a size 11 cuz I definitely would buy a pair. And not for nothing, if you are a big foot like myself and also a fan of 80%20, go to her site and plead with her to do size 11s!

Samiya like these flats cuz of the stud detail. The backdrop is a bunch of cool album covers. Designers showed in individual suites in the Hilton and Ce Ce used the albums to cover the beds. She also brought a working turntable!

Having interviewed Ce Ce a while back, it was fun to finally meet her. She’s a totally cool chick and even helped contribute a name for our soon-to-be posted Men of Streetwear post.
