When a high end label hits the nail on the head with a sneaker design, we have to take notice. I just came across  the Barbara Bui Jacquard’sneakers and have been quite pleased with the mix of textures and colors and the sleek silhouette. A sharp contrast of black and white against a modernist silhouette with a pebbled texture give Camilla Skovgaard’s Autumn 2012 sneakers high notes as a purveyor of covetable footwear styles with an edge.  The sneakers are now available at Luisaviaroma and bear a striking resemblance to Rick Owens’ chunkier silhouette. Given Skovgaard affinity for the Owen’s label I would not be surprised if they collaborated on the design.

With a sensual play of opaque and sheer textures, lingerie label Lascivious’s “Lola” collection sensually plays opaque against sheer textures on classic lingerie silhouettes with a fashion edge yours truly finds irresistable. Erin Wasson the new face of Rockport was on hand at an event in Manhattan yesterday, to talk about her partnership with the brand. As part of the same event, guests got  hair and make-up from Blow Salon . We had a chance to chat with Erin who shared with us her love of architecture, individual style, comfort and  the timeless feeling of holding a good book in your hand. For their Autumn/Winter collection, international ready to wear brand and multidisciplinary company Surface To Air shot their campaign movie ‘Roolercoaster’ on a walkable rollercoaster in Duisburg, Germany. As the movie was shot in the very beginning of this year it now already transmitts a snugly winter mood. And even if summer is not yet over, featuring some nice knits and jackets that can also be worn on a balmy summer evening, a look at the collection pays off at any rate.
