In the few glimpses of reality television  I have seen, there have been repeated sightings of these dramatic hoop earrings on VH1’s Basketball Wives, which have been searched so heavily that “basketball wives earrings” is a suggestion on Google search. Bold and sparkly, these Poparazzi creations are a statement of their own. Sadly the knockoffs are rampant but as the Snobettes  know there’s nothing like the real thing. On the way to the Levi’s event (images about to be posted) we passed a lower Broadway window in SoHo, with these giant gold earrings, positioned front and center. At Magic there’s a section of the show called “Cash & Carry,” where vendors can set up shop and sell their products. That’s where I spied Tawapa’s alluring earring and necklace offerings. The company started out with a focus on men’s piercing accessories, but lately has been branching out into women’s. I loved these earrings and necklaces because they speak to the current feather trend, but the bone, fossilized ivory and horn materials make them more bad-ass than hippie-ass. And the detail on them is amazing.
